I'm in this camp on Carr. I think he's got alot of input in roster building, NIL distribution, and the overall scouting on what is needed with input obviously from what CDD wants the team to look like. Do I think Carr leaves a lifetime job to come to IU and hinge everything on no guarantees he's staying even if CDD were to get the ax? NO I do not. I am sure CDD wanted a GM given how his roster came together last season. I don't doubt he and Dolson collaboratively came together to get someone they thought would be an asset to getting the roster that was needed to compete in the B1G. They will all spin in the media CDD convinced Carr to come, he reports to CDD, and whatever else it looks like to make sure it appears nobody thinks CDD is incompetent and this was a needed change by Dolson (I am not saying he's incompetent but if it appeared this was not CDD decision that would be questioned is my guess). I would expect nothing less than statements of alignment from all involved. IDK how it came about nor do I care honestly. But I do believe that Carr will have a job even if CDD gets the ax, and he may end up having a hand in choosing another coach should it get to that point (hoping it doesn't). Carr seems to have done some really good evaluations to this point given the team we assembled through the portal. We still have some spots to fill so I think his talent eval will really be worth his salary to see who they come in with in these last few additions. Carr was much needed and I think we will be much better off with him well into the future assuming he stays long term.

Carr and the staff have done a masterful job so far. Interested to see who it is we add for our last 3 spots. Do we expect any of our freshman to contribute this season? Moody maybe?

Who had Lindsay on our radar? Carr really doing the work to keep things quiet.

I'll admit I was skeptical we could land big fish like this. Props to Carr and the staff for aggressively identifying and going after the players they wanted then signing them. $$ help ofcourse so big ups to Dolson for getting the $$ together to be aggressive. Let's finish it out strong and look forward to hopefully a great season. I will say this board is really welcoming to all opinions and that's a nice change of pace to places that only want sunshine pumpers. This program has been down so long it's great to have an offseason where you can see they had a plan in place to form a team that works on the court. Criticism and pessimism has been warranted but hopefully that's behind this program.

I think it's just the fake rothstein that's the place I saw it too. Was excited for a second about the possibility.

Definitely need more depth. We will have two good BIGS but need another 4/5 and a wing to help. Plus a couple guards unless we think our freshman can contribute which I'm all in favor of if they are ready.

I don't think it was the double big lineup but how it was being used. You see it works with UM and plenty of other teams. Woodson never assembled a team that worked together that was the biggest issue with his lineups/teams.

Feel pretty good about Carr's evaluations honestly. Way better than who they were targeting last season. Carr seems to be earning his money and the staff is doing work to close on these guys by getting them in the door (or zoom). We seem to be heading in a good direction.

Agreed. Cannot run out of time waiting. If Sherrell wants to shop, then let him shop. We may not get 'better' but we can get better than what we had last season and move forward with more for possibly less if we have to. At some point, he will run out of options to shop for more money.

Kind of feels that way doesn't it? Hopefully we continue to pursue others so if Duke comes in with a larger or equal offer we aren't left holding the bag.

Playing time and dollars will be there for him. He wants to be the guy and I think if we get Sherrell that will push him in another direction although both could co-exist here just fine IMO and get plenty of minutes.
