  1. I could get on board with him. McCollum would be my choice between the two but we could do a lot worse. He has some good talent he could bring with him too.
  2. Yea isn’t his buyout higher?
  3. Because Wade has too much in his background that doesn’t align with our holier than thou morals. I agree wholeheartedly. At some point we have to stop passing on the Rick Pitino’s for the Archie Millers because we need a choir boy as our coach.
  4. Rightfully so. Dolson likely doesn’t survive the 4 year cycle if he hires Brownell.
  5. Let’s hope not because that would be the most underwhelming hire we could make.
  6. For real. It would be hell.
  7. Worst decision to keep Woody. This could have been IU and Dusty. But it’s just one in a long line of bad decisions that we continue making about our basketball program. That’s why hiring Brownell won’t surprise me. It’s just what we do.
  8. Makes sense. Dusty I’m sure had no guarantees from IU though so don’t think you can pass up a P4 job to wait on an opportunity that may never come. Ready to turn the page and be done with the search. I want to be excited about the program again. I’ve been so apathetic for so long, it’s depressing.
  9. I’m more of a ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’ kind of fan given the last 25 years. I’m not in the camp that believes Stevens is coming. I’ll be ecstatic to be wrong but I just don’t buy it.
  10. It’s depressing to think about…
  11. This is exactly it. Just adding his insight as a person in an AD office but also is an alum of the university. I do not find it odd at all that other universities talk about coaching searches especially the higher profile ones. Talking points from their perspective and possibly how they would approach it if it was their own opening or what candidates they would go after if they were in Dolson shoes.
  12. I sure hope so because if he passes on Wade for Brownell, people will be calling for Dolson’s head sooner rather than later.
  13. Yes but not in the IU athletic department which is what the poster asked. He’s just an IU alum interested in the hire as a fan.
  14. Reading his posts have been very insightful during the search. Really enjoy his perspective.
  15. It is a damn shame we didn’t get Dusty last year. He’s going to continue having UM at the top of the conference. It will be a real travesty if we end up with an underwhelming Brownell hire.
  16. We don’t know. He doesn’t disclose that. But he has great insight into the search process and is definitely a valued poster. And I’ll say this again, he does NOT say locked up. He says his AD THINKS it’s either Stevens or May. Nothing for sure.
  17. Pearl (along with Stevens) would be top of my wish list if I thought he was realistic. I just don’t think with Auburn rolling he leaves now. Maybe, like you said, he has some desire to coach at IU to resurrect basketball before he retires. I wish we had hired him instead of Archie and certainly instead of Woody.
  18. He doesn’t say locked up. He says his AD THINKS it’s either Stevens or May.
  19. This x100 I’m not in the camp that wants Cronin at all but I’d take him 17x over Brownell. At least we know he can get us in the tournament every year.
  20. This. Looking at the searches for UK/UL last year, my expectations have been kept in check. UK is a blue blood program. If they had to move down their list because the heavy hitters wouldn’t go there, what makes us believe it’s different here? It’s not different. NIL changes the playing field. You don’t have to go to a blue blood to get great players because they will come with money and coaching regardless. Is this still a desired job? Sure for some. But Pearl, Drew, Few, Oats don’t need to come to IU. They have established programs where they can and are winning. I hope the white whale rumors are correct and we get the big fish. But I’m preparing myself for a McCollum, Wade, McMillan. I won’t be surprised given todays college basketball landscape.
  21. It’s been a great game.
  22. Me too. Would be incredibly disappointed if IU hired him.
  23. Thanks for the cliffs notes. I missed 63 pages today.
