Maybe. My experience is only one experience. Maybe IU is doing this, and you definitely have more insight into how IU specially operates (i mean that genuinely).

Seems like an utter waste of unnecessary time, though. Not sure why people that don't know anything anyways would need to be coordinated to drip misinformation to donors. Just seems silly.

Maybe due to past history of previous coaching searches...

Nobody trending today. Interesting.

It is interesting. Villanova opens and it's immediately rumored that Collins leads for the job and that there is mutual interest. Crickets about the IU opening except for guessing. No mentions of mutual interest with anyone..

Well probably because NW is done.  If our guy is still coaching it's obvious why everyone would want to keep things quiet until their season is over.

Clearly we just need some posters to start talking in absolutes about our new coach. That will draw the attention of outsiders, who will start talking about it, and our fans will then see them talking about it and assume they heard it someplace else.

I don't think Scott is that stupid.

For better or worse we’ll find out soon. This is his chance to show us he’s not just an empty suit doing other people’s bidding. I don’t think he’s stupid. I just think he’s weak.

Yup, played D2. I'm not going to say that I wouldn't have reservations about McCollum making a D2 to mid-major to blueblood move in one year. I think it's a valid concern. Coaching D2 and IU are completely different things.
But with that said, the guy just seems like a winner. 4 (many people think it would have 5 the Covid year) National Championships and then a historic year in his first year at Drake tells me McCollum has something special and can flat-out coach.
Obviously there are proven guys I'd take ahead of him, but I think if you can coach, build identity and culture, and are a winner, then you should be able to win at IU.
He's not my #1 choice by any means, but if the top guys aren't interested, I would very much be in favor McCollum over some of the retread (Buzz, Cronin) guys or someone like Brownell.
McCollum seems to have an "it" factor.
Buzz or Cronin over mccullum for me. But I'm guessing iu won't pursue those two they would probably take bb first and let him cook
