So did KSU get better in sports during her tenure?  Good to be a sport fanatic but wonder if that translated to improvement

Football was already really good and ranked before she got there. Their basketball was terrible but improved from 1 win last yr to 6 this yr

I'm glad to hear she has an appreciation for athletics and understands how much visibility it brings to the university.

I hope, hope, HOPE that she and our new AD take a very serious look at the licensing and merchandising deals (or lack there of) that we have in comparison to other universities of our size and athletic tradition.

You can buy SO MUCH STUFF with UNC, pUKe, and even PUke logos on them.  I am so sad when I click on a cool NCAA item on a website and cannot find a version with IU on it.

Even with the general merchandise shortcomings, we also have a huge opportunity with our unique IU-only items.  The Candy Stripes, the old bison, and especially the "Go Big Red" flag.  You CANNOT find the Go Big Red flag for purchase.  Not even on in own official stores. (maybe I'm wrong, if one of you guys knows where to find one, please message me!) It is one of the most cherished traditions during basketball games and you can't spend your money on a version of that flag to hang in your home Hoosier Room!  Tragic!

At first blush, President Whitten appears to have a much more outgoing personality than did her predecessor.   Obviously, all the photos currently circulating are planned for PR purposes, but she just seems to be much more relaxed and engaged in what she's doing.  I can't imagine our former university president ever throwing a football to our football coach and it wasn't a bad throw at all.

What? President Whitten doesn’t travel with personal security in a blacked out FBI Tahoe that parks in everyone’s way? Is she even an IU president?!

Yeah, good riddance as far as McRobbie is concerned IMO.

I'll never forget the time I was dropping off dry cleaning at an east side location. Decked out car pulls up, driver gets out, opens umbrella and walks over to the passenger door...opens it up and out pops McRobbie. Driver held the umbrella for him so he doesn't get wet, carried his dry cleaning and escorted him all the way to the door. Waited outside, and repeated the process back to the car....Escort was wearing a badge, like an off-duty cop. Later found out he was indeed a retired police officer, who switched to be his full time security/driver/escort.

Dude was living like a King. Great use of tuition dollars.

IU President Pamela Whitten is here at Kinnick Stadium for Indiana’s season opener. Was just tossing the ball around at midfield and calling for others in her group to run routes.

I'm starting to find her strangely hot and erotic lol....

j/k

you have to love the shift in things.

maybe she can give Penix some pointers?
