Hate to hear that. I'm hoping you have a great outcome. Cancer is getting more treatable everyday.

    Expectations for the 24-25 Season

With new guys in the backcourt and a different type of guy in the paint, I expect a disjointed early part of the season. After that, it all depends on how well roles are established and how much the players buy-in. The talent and depth should be there for a great season but talent isn't everything. All in all, I expect a better season. By how much, I have no idea.

President Whitten - 2024 Faculty No Vote

I didn't say that the book was apolitical. I said it describes the path that led us to this point in the educational debate. There is a lot that is over the top in it and a lot that I don't necessarily agree with, but I learned a great deal that helps me understand the reason parent groups are upset with the content in their children's classrooms. I was a teacher a very long time ago so I have some interest in the debate. As others have said, this is complicated and, in today's world, people seem to prefer confrontation to communication and compromise.

President Whitten - 2024 Faculty No Vote

There is a growing discussion taking place concerning the purpose of education. One side wants it to be an activist agent for social change. The other wants it to be an apolitical entity that gives students the tools to succeed in life. The book "The Queering of the American Child" by Logan Lansing and James Lindsey does a pretty good job of showing how we got, although it primarily addresses what is happening in elementary and secondary schools. The balance between academic freedom and censorship is a tricky one. As a lifelong resident of Indiana, it's not difficult for me to predict where the legislature is going fall on any given issue.

    Kanaan Carlyle to INDIANA

I see very little to complain about in the backcourt for next season.

    Transfer Portal w IU Interest

I don't know where this is all going, but it looks to me like we will have significantly better tools to work with next season. Now what that actually means, we'll have to wait until the dust settles and the games begin to know for sure. If next season goes the same as last, even I will be on the dark side.

    Transfer Portal w IU Interest

I usually call myself cautiously pessimistic.

    Transfer Portal w IU Interest

As much as I hate the whole process, portal season progresses at a much faster pace than high school recruiting.

    Transfer Portal w IU Interest

This all seems eerily similar to last portal season. We think we have someone and then we don't. Speculation on lineups runs rampant and then disappointment and despair. Wake me when it's over.

    RIP Jade Butcher

Hard to hear. He was an integral part of those late 60's teams that were a highlight in our miserable football history. RIP, Jade.

    Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA

I really like McCulley, but he needs to embrace the change. He has too much talent to waste it by not putting in the work. Just from hearing coach's comments, it's shocking how far the program had sunk. Wouldn't be surprised to see a few more "old" Indiana guys hit the portal.

    Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA

CCC is the guy. I love the talk about the old Indiana being unacceptable. If he can't make this program a winner then we might as well shut it down.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

He didn't throw the coaching staff under the bus, he placed the blame on the players. But reading between the lines, you get the difference in coaching. I am not sure how that translates into wins and losses, but I am sure that it improves our chances.

    IUWBB - News and Notes

CTM built this program. No way she doesn't keep building. I think we are on the cusp of being a perennially relevant women's basketball team. I love the way they play the game and for each other. Really looking forward to next year.

    2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament

We were just that close. CTM assembled an awesome team. And after watching some of these other teams, undoubtedly the most classy group of young women. So proud of our program!

    RIP John Isenbarger

Great memories for sure. I was at ISU as an undergraduate but was an IU fan from birth. ISU had astroturf on its football field and the IU team came to Terre Haute to practice on it. I wasn't on campus until graduate school in the spring of '76. All in all, a pretty good time to be there. I remember John I. had a tendency to take off running out of the punt formation. Thus the chant, " punt John punt". Great times.

    RIP John Isenbarger

I'm not sure there has ever been a more exciting IU football team than the '67 Rose Bowl team. I was helping my dad harvest corn and listening to the IU / Purdue game on the radio. That goal line stand was incredible. I'm hoping that CCC can restore some of that magic.

At this level, that should never happen.
  19. This team over the last few years has made me a fan of women's basketball. They played the way the game is supposed to be played. So proud of the way they represented Indiana. I'd be proud to have any of them as a daughter.
  20. It looks like a mismatch on paper, but there's a reason that we actually play the games.

    IUWBB vs Oklahoma - Monday, 03.25.24 @ 6:30 on ESPN2

Love the way these women play. A pleasure to watch. Now go shock the world.
  22. This has been really comical to me. The angst, the gnashing of teeth, the doomsday predictions. On top of that, the trashing of legendary IU basketball players who have done the work to actually accomplish something. Let's start with Quinn Buckner. He was the point guard on the last undefeated national championship team. Arguably the best college basketball team ever. Nothing but respect from me. I've seen shots taken at I. Thomas. One of the best point guards ever and the reason that '81 banner is hanging in Assembly Hall. Maybe CMW is not the guy who brings IU back to national prominence. But he was an outstanding player and he deserves respect for that. I truly don't understand the mentality of fans in the social media era. Admittedly, I'm one of the old guys. I go back to Branch McCracken. I've seen IU basketball at best and at its worst. If we ever want to right this ship, it needs to start with respecting those who built the legacy, not making fun of them. CBK was lightning in a bottle. We've been though several coaches since and none have measured up to our standards. Maybe the problem is us. Just my unsolicited opinion. Flame away, at this point I don't care.
  23. As in life in general, the people with the money get to make the decisions. What the high rollers want, the high rollers get.
  24. Congratulations to the players and Coach Woodson for finishing the regular season strong . There is more that I would like to say but in the interest of decorum, and out of respect for this sites moderators, I will leave it at that.
