Remember when we just wanted a serviceable quarterback? My how things have changed in Bloomington.

At full strength I think we can give OSU a game. If we have key people out, our backups are not as good as theirs. It's just where we are as a program right now. I think Cignetti gets us in a couple of more cycles but we are not there right now.

I am so blown away by what these guys have accomplished. Been listening or watching since the early 60's and a winning season was all I ever hoped for. I probably would have bet my life that IU football would have ever been even close to being undefeated. Congratulations to everyone involved with this magical last two years. -

I was also very impressed with the sportsmanship demonstrated by Fischer when helped the PSU quarterback off the turf after the desperation throw. That expression of respect for the opponent is missing far too often these days. I have grandkids involved in youth sports and way too often the lack of sportsmanship is glaring. And more often than not the parents are the worst. I wouldn't expect anything less from a player who Cignetti brings into the program. Winning is important but doing it the right way is more important. Congrats to a fine young man.

I agree. Talent matters and Coach Smith got them to believe that they could win the game. Being at home was a huge relief to PSU. Our lack of quality depth was exposed some in this game. With Cignetti we'll get there in terms of talent but it's going to take a few cycles. Fortunately, Coach Cignetti is really good at identifying talent in the portal. I would be shocked if PSU doesn't win the last three games on their schedule. We need very badly to get as healthy as possible before we get to the playoffs.

I don't ever want to see Brad Steven's name mentioned in connection with IU basketball again. Ever!!

Coach Knight without the warts. If anything, he has softened a little over the years. CBK also said that opponent was the game and success meant playing the game as perfectly as possible. Cig is that guy too. I love the commitment to the process. What he preaches works in every walk of life. As long as he is here, IU football will be a problem for the rest of the country.

I hope you are right. I started watching IU basketball in the McCracken years with Jimmy Rayl and those guys. Then the VanArsdale years were great. I saw the entire Coach Knight tenure. I think Coach DeVries has a chance to be the "guy". It's going to take me a while to get my enthusiasm back for IU basketball. For now, I'm enjoying the hell out the Cig era.

There have to be some anti-trust things going on with how mega corporations swallow up smaller companies. But corporate and money interests (stockholders) always get away with whatever they want. It's the way of the world now.

I've been a basketball guy since the late '50's. I also followed IU football. Since Cignetti got here I have shifted my main interest to football. Part of the reason was the never ending negatively in the various fire the coach threads. Most of it, however, was the overwhelmingly positive momentum that Coach Cignetti brought to what had been a dismal IU football program. I haven't followed much relating to IU basketball and I probably won't until this glorious football season is over. Coach Cignetti is to IU football what Coach Knight was to IU basketball and I'm just happy that I am here for it.
