Running out of words to describe this young man. Large Indiana football contingent has taken over the adidas store in New York, offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan is here, QB coach Chandler Whitmer and group of players including Pat Coogan, Charlie Becker and Carter Smith all here in support of Fernando Mendoza13 points -

Personally, I find the Chuckster to be hilarious and I doubt he can make me mad. Even if he doesn’t know much about us or is critical I just don’t care, I like his humor and I don’t need super sharp game analysis.6 points -

My wife works for a financial planner in the Phoenix area. They recently signed a deal with Grand Canyon University to manage retirement accounts for their employees. Part of the deal was the company getting blocks of tickets to the 'Lopes basketball games throughout the season. The first game in the deal is tonight against Coastal Carolina, and the wife managed to score 4 court-side seats... I'm so looking forward to that experience! So I will be recording the IU-pUKe game. Please, don't anyone post about that game until I can get home and watch it. :D :D :D And GO Heismendoza!5 points -

Y'all, IUFB is by far the better product garnering the national spotlight (an exponentially larger light than the sport of basketball) and the top brass fully understand this. Finally. Hop on and enjoy this ride. Personally, I am looking forward to Memorial Stadium improvements and top recruits in the sport taking the time to see what 812 has to offer them.4 points -
And the Heismendoza finalists arrive in NYC. Fernando is gracious, charismatic, and classy. Sayin is an outstanding young man. Pavia is one part Jersey Shore reject, one part dumb @$$, and a little sprinkle of hilarious.4 points

IUFB is indeed driving the bus. That was never the case, ever. It is now. Finally. It will be considered first and foremost before any other sport in the department. And doing so will pay dividends for every single sport, especially the basketball program. If you live in the 812, every store that has any sort of sports apparel is currently stacked with IUFB. More than I have ever seen in my lifetime. I used to see a lot back in the late 80s/early 90s, but nothing like this.3 points

I’m not really seeing any funding issues with IUFB and IUBB. Whatever IUFB is getting Cig views as sufficient given he is staying here, which is all that matters (#20-25 resources in my guesstimation). To start, CDD gets a huge operating budget and 10-20th ranked payroll for players. In my opinion, the big question with IUBB isn’t money, it’s how good is CDD? That said, IUFB is pretty clearly the priority and it should be. It makes basically all the money and we’ve got an incredible staff operating at an elite level. Cig will eventually retire, etc. You’ve got to make hay while the sun shines.3 points -

Notre Dame didn’t play Wisconsin (Bama did). But let’s say the early season games are given the same weight as late season games, despite the fact that the committee has historically shown that isn’t the case. ND lost its first game to Miami by 3 and its second game to A&M by 1. Bama lost its first game by 14 to a team that finished 13th in a conference that was won by Duke. Their second loss was respectable. Missouri, Tennessee, and LSU were all a game or two over .500, they looked like @$$ against SC and needed to be bailed out by the officials, and they looked mediocre at best against Auburn. Then they showed up to the conference championship and looked like the team we thought they were after the FSU game. As far as the “teams playing their best at the end” argument being flawed, I’ll simply have to disagree. Do you think the IU team that played ODU in week 1 would’ve beaten OSU? I don’t. Some teams improve throughout the season, some stay the same, and some regress. The ones that improve are typically the ones that win the bowl games.3 points -

JMO I think we’ll add a few seats but I’d guess we add premium seating and max out at 60K. Perhaps that’s a self-imposed limitation on my part! For shame! Memorial Stadium has some fairly steep stands, but yea it’s not Ben Hill Griff. I kinda think most of it is down to our fans who can probably get a little more wild than they are — like in AH when we were good or the Illinois game this year. Memorial could be a little more Autzen-like over time I would hope. To be clear I’m not complaining just observing. We’ve come a long way baby and more is possible.2 points

The Freeman thing always felt kind of nuts. Replacing the best rim protector in CBB who let them really press out on the arc with a straight non defender, yeesh. Different kind of misfit but seemed kind of like Self going all in on Dickinson.2 points -
Man, crazy how doom and gloom they are over on UK boards. If we get up to a lead early, things could get ugly for them. Home court advantage could turn into a disadvantage awfully quick. They already sound like we did during year 3 of Woodson.2 points

I’ll say that it’s impressive what Otzelbergers done with their offense. It’s went from horrible to mediocre to good while maintaining their stellar defense. You don’t often see that. Sign of a good coach, imo.2 points
