According to Tom Brew with Sports Illustrated, it’s still unclear whether Woodson will coach the remainder of the season and that decision will come before Saturday.

His separation agreement and buyout should have a non-disparagement clause and stuff like that to stop it.

They should have offered the job to Bruce Pearl when they hired Woodson. I don't care about the baggage. I was going to USI when he won a championship there and I'm drinking the Kool-Aid. Can't imagine what it would cost to hire him now. You want life injected back into the program? He would be the one to do it.

There is no doubt Woodson is in denial. In his mind if he doesn’t sign the  retirement papers he can go on a winning streak and save his job.

My own speculation based on no facts:

I think it's more like, Buckner may be giving Dolson the impression that his big donor/BOT, etc. friends will be very displeased with him if Dolson disgraces THE Mike Woodson by removing him from the sidelines mid-season. 

Dolson goes to Woodson yesterday and says announce your retirement at end of season before Michigan game

Woody says this morning he won't be forced to retire, he quits. Dolson says fine and works out the interim plan. 

Then Woodson's camp leaks this, that he is expected to stay at end of season. Backing Dolson into the corner, if he cares about the "stakeholders" Buckner's potentially implying he can wield his influence with.

All the concerns about whether Woodson retires or is fired, whether it happens today or tomorrow, or whether he finishes the season or we have an interim coach are the definition of sweating the small stuff.  Only one thing matters.  Is Woodson gone after this season, so the basketball program is given the opportunity for a fresh start.

This is some Machiavellian stuff and I am here for it.

I want him gone now so that nothing can happen the rest of the season that might save him. I think he wants this job and will point to anything to keep it. Just watch, 5 game winning streak just like last year and his camp is lobbying for year 5. Don't give him any chances. Fire his @$$ now and be done with it. Amicable departures are for losers.
