I think when the new coach is named, unless it’s one or two guys, I’ll stay off this board until the doom and gloom negative woe -is-me end of the world IU basketball is a loser talk subsides. A ( small) portion of this board will not be happy with anyone hired.

I understand the sentiment. I created this account because if I said what I said under my former username, it would be all over the place in about 2 minutes.

Truthhurts?  Sorry guys Im on page 2345, I might be caught up at the end of selection show!

This has been the most troll-ish coach search of all time.

If it’s legitimately McCollum, Devries, Brownell people are gonna be very disappointed in Dolson.

IU will then have a long off-season to do what they do best, and sell the fanbase on how great we will be. 90% will eat it up.

Rinse and repeat.

However, a huge part of me really thinks Dolson has something surprising on deck. Continue to hold out hope for that.

At least there is something to sell with McCollum and Devries. Brownell there won’t be much of anyone buying what they’re selling and it would be a massive misstep from Dolson. If Brownell is hired than Dolson has proven he is out of his depth and the Cignetti hire was lightning in a bottle.

He hired Woodson and there’s no way to spin his glowing review of woody in his pressers and interviews. He also extended CTA and cost the university/donors $15m just to buy him out.

He needed this hire to land.

If it’s Brownell, they will lose a massive portion of the fanbase to permanent apathy. Perhaps that’s what they want?

I will say that many people heard that there was a signing yesterday. Several people heard it was it was a home run. Meaning not Brownell or McCollum. Was told they could announce it as early as Monday if iwe don’t make the tournament. I don’t think would happen if it was a current coach. Can a current coach sign a contract? I’m done for the day. Go Hoosiers!! Who am I kidding I’ll be back later.

NO, you will stay right here young man! lol

How many time in this coaching search has this happened haha. As soon as any possible good news happens, hear comes the chaos.

It's always when positive Stevens vibes are brought to the board...another coach's name immediately comes up as the leading candidate...and the board goes bonkers...

I just cant see BB being the end result of this coaching search.

First, the political capital spent to force out a former star player held in high regard by the university had to have been massive. There’s no way we do that to hire someone who is not a clear upgrade what so ever.

Second, the fan reaction is going to be awful. All the air is going to be sucked out of the program before he would even get on campus. We would be back to paying millions to have above average teams at best, if the NIL is even still there.

This would be a disaster.

If only this could have been mentioned this morning...though I understand it's not really Chris's responsibility to do so...thanks, @Chris007

I’ll bite….based on what exactly?

He has coached 3 different schools in a small amount of time and has gotten each to the ncaa tourney.   First coach to beat a 1 seed as a 16 seed.  Still young.   Virginias  top choice and they have been more nationally relevant then IU.  If he is good enough for them IU should be lucky to have him as coach

Dolson is getting desperate...

It's plausible Dolson wants Beard or Wade but his hands are tied...or maybe he still delivers one of them. We don't know for sure....but I'll tell you what...it's no fun seeing schools like Iowa, NC State, Villanova, --hell, even Minnesota have better coaching candidate lists than us.
