I think IF it is Beard, it means we missed on every other top tier option; and the decision comes down to Beard + Baggage/Risk vs guys like McCollum, Byington, etc.  

I think Beard wins big here if we do hire him, just not sure if it's worth the risk of something else happening.  I trust Dolson if he does decide to roll the dice with Beard though.

I’m simply pointing out how/why Woodson would have inside information to the coaching search to all those that are under the impression that Woodson would be the last to know. He’s extremely close to two of the highest people around.

When my boss fired me a few months back first thing I did was ask who he was hiring to replace me. He gave me his whole list of candidates.

That is not really a fair comparison.  There is no way Dolson is communicating with Woody on anything search related.  But Woody does know people and I am sure he hears things.  Now you could probably argue he hears what he wants to hear and very well may not communicate what he hears correctly.  But he definitely hears things

Which of the coaches mentioned would be a total let down?  I could live with a lot of the names mentioned on this board, but I would be depressed if we end up with adequate and not someone who is considered great or at least a potential star.  My ugh list would be Turgeon, Brownell, and Jans.

I can possibly see Woodson being told about candidates on the list.  However, the dealings with each candidate aren’t going to be discussed with him.

Definitely Sendek lol. I'd add Collins to that list. I'm not seeing what others see there.
