No reason he can't grow into a great role player, but he's certainly not a starter and our primary point guard. Newton, Cupps, K9 all gone. I may be mistaken, but didn't the staff think we would have another year of eligibility for Goode? You got to think he would be welcomed. JPCIVOP and lillurk 2

Does anyone else think it is odd that a contract that began in January didn’t get signed until this week? No, because UNC agreed to an extension with Davis in August and wasn't signed till December and wasn't even announced till last week. lillurk, kottke, Hoosierfanyuh and 4 others 7

While it would be awesome to get a guy for the next 20-25 years, how often does that actually happen these days? Izzo, Painter, Self.... We need to get the best coach possible and can't afford to sacrifice for a guy a few years younger. Beggars can't be choosers, and we are some beggin' mofos hper50 1

Cronin is close to Lavin and Alford than those two. I don’t hate Cronin but he really hasn’t built the rosters that Drew has. This is the concern about Cronin at UCLA. I mean, he does have a final four, which is obviously a positive. But Harrick proved you can obviously win a title at UCLA post-Wooden. And Howland made a championship game and two additional final fours after Harrick. He was a weird dude, but he did win big for a while. I think Cronin would probably be really solid at IU, but he's certainly not shown himself to be an amazing coach. Of course, solid would look amazing compared to Woody, so... Popular Post HoosierHuddle Posted February 28 Popular Post Posted February 28 The "new contract" for TJ Otzelberger was initially talked about a while ago. It was just signed on February 26 of this year. The new deal raises his salary to $4 million and drops his buyout to $4 million. That deal was on the table for a while it seems and was just now signed, shortly after Goodman and Fanta and others put out information about why IU should go after Otzelberger as their top choice. The deal then gets signed on Tuesday of this week and lowers the buyout to one that IU would not even blink before paying. Interesting. JustWinBaby, Kentuckysucks, lillurk and 7 others 10

Personally, I'd be kinda surprised if the new coach kept any of the three. Malik seems like a good kid, but as someone else put it, he's the type of player that gets you fired. Good enough you have to play him, but too many holes in his game to be a key cog in a championship level team. Mgbako needs a change of scenery. Rumor is that Tucker has been difficult behind the scenes (which is saying something with this crew). I think you need a full reset to fix the culture. thebigweave, pumpfake, MikeRoberts and 1 other 4

Popular Post Hovadipo Posted February 28 Popular Post Posted February 28 Otz contract is really odd. The two things we know (salary and buyout) are to his benefit, and you have to assume there are some financial support promises in there for him too. Contracts are a two way street but on the surface it looks like ISU is getting railroaded. Someone make it make sense. Pagoda, JustWinBaby, raorIU and 7 others 10
