Based on what I've seen elsewhere, including Peegs and Trilly discord, there really does not seem to be any information about the search coming from the agent side of things. Literally the only info we're getting is from people connected to donors.

Which makes sense -- these are people not professionally tied to the situation, but have a personal and financial investment in it. So of course Dolson is communicating with them to some degree about what he is up to. And of course that's the only place from which any info seems to be coming. Everything else at this point seems to be pure speculation.

To reiterate, I'm not an insider and I don't know diddly squat. But after years perusing various boards with "insider" sources, I've learned to read the tea leaves a bit. If I were a betting man, I'd be putting money on Brad Stevens right now. That's just where my gut is.

From the donor side, the only thing really being talked about is the NIL.  I know others are discussing coaches to some on the board, but that’s still very different than what I am hearing.  Which is less than normal.  Normally, you would think that’s a bad thing, but it gives me hope people that entrenched themselves in previous men’s bball coach searches just have not this time.  That much I am certain of beyond NIL confidence.

I just can’t see any scenario whatsoever where he has already agreed to take the job but hasn’t informed the Celtics.  He would burn so many bridges.

And no, I’m not saying IU should’ve announced anything by now.  I would definitely expect something from the Celtics side.

Where did he ever say that? He just said IU wouldn't announce it before Woodson is out to pasture. And why would the Celtics feel any need to announce it? Do you believe they would want to burn Brad Stevens after he has spent years dedicated to making that franchise great?

It's also the same group that acted like Stevens didn't even take IU's calls last time and then later reported that he had been offered 7 years, $70 million.

The only person I've ever actually seen report that is Woj. Others have shared Woj's report, but i haven't seen (doesn't mean is doesn't exist) any other original reporting that IU made an offer.

Even Woj's report said IU was "prepared" to offer Stevens. Stevens has denied that offer happening.

Isaac may have some connections, others have said he posted last year that Buckner had the votes to keep Woodson before the release came out.

I think he jumped the shark on his posts about the coaching search though.

That wasn't really a stretch though most everyone knew they would give a former player four years.

I think people forget...

HE wanted to come last time, his family wasn't ready..

His family is in a different place now..

The Celtics won in NBA title

Last and I think the most important detail that people don't think about..

He doesn't do the conventional thing...

Best post in the history of this board. Brad is coming home....hopefully.

No one believes that he wanted to come but the family said no. That’s a fairy tale. I don’t doubt that the family didn’t want to move. That’s the only part that’s accurate. Tracy has been very openly supportive of him taking new challenges. If he really wanted it, she would have supported him.
You were there for the family vote? You should have asked if your vote counts....

If you had a chance to coach your kid at a place you just so happened to have dreamt at coaching at would you? Stars don’t align like this very often.

Except for the last time he turned us down… or the time before that.

All you need to know about them:

"Danny Ainge went to Brad Stevens and he said, 'Hey, you know, I want you to coach the Celtics. I've always been a big fan of yours,'" Holley told host Chris Forsberg. "Brad talks to Tracy and says, 'Oh man, this is great. Wow, the Boston Celtics! This is great, but no.' He turned him down. He turned it down initially."

. "So (Tracy) went to Brad and -- this is like poetry. She said, 'You'll never be as good as you can unless you're uncomfortable.' Like, hey -- 'We love Butler, Butler's been great to us. We got a lifetime contract here, but you know what? You got to push yourself. Go to the NBA. Do it.' And that's what made him change his mind."
