I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen talk of us getting home run assistants. Can’t get a home run coach so what makes people think we are getting home run assistants to prop up an average to bad head coaching hire?

The reason we aren’t a blue blood is because we refuse to be one. When you pay $3.5mill a year for a coach you get an average coach. If you want to be mentioned with UK, Duke, UNC and Kansas you have to spend money like they doing. IU is too cheap and stupid to do that. They keep spending money to fire bad coaches instead of spending money to hire a good one. People say this coach or that coach would never come here and that’s partially true. For $3.5mill they won’t. Try spending some money on these guys and you’ll get a different set of ears listening. This is more of the same. Only this time they are going to experiment by hiring 2 guys to try and make one good coach. Hopefully when this experiment is over we dont have to hear the hire an IU guy garbage anymore.

Same here. Don’t know what Indiana guy has to do with anything. Knight came from Ohio State and West Point. He wasn’t and Indiana guy. I’ll trade an Indiana guy for a coach who wins all day long.

Give IU fans long enough and they will talk themselves into it being good enough.

His original statement was its Stevens. The other day he said something like if people wanted it kept secret then it would be kept secret. Then he said he didn’t feel like he needed to repeat himself.

We always mention a donor offering to pay the $10 million for a buyout and some write that off as no big deal. But I still see that as a big deal meaning we had a plan. But we never mention it was said by Dolson we had another donor lined up to handle the other side of this deal which is hiring a new coach. Fine you can say it’s no big deal a donor agreed to pay for Archie to leave because it was time. But I don’t believe the other donor is going to agree to pay for the new coach without knowing where his money is being spent ahead of time. That tells me there was a plan and Dolson had his guy before any of this went down.

Yea, wasn’t it said somewhere that Archie actually cleaned out his office the Thursday night or Friday before it went public he was fired?

Well if there were 5 or 6 meetings and it seemed they had agreement after talking for such a lengthy amount of time going back to Feb 15 and everyone left the meeting happy the day of presser, then it wouldn’t seem he would just change his mind that quickly based on anything Boston said to him.

Here’s another thing to think about. If Chris007 got info when things were good then it would seem he would also have gotten info that things had turned bad or deal was off. But instead he says things have just went quiet. That sounds like people wanting to kill the talk.
