Another thing about Stevens and the Celtics. I looked it up and Stevens is currently 5th among coaches tenure with an NBA team. And 3 of the 4 ahead of him have championships. Statistically he’s done been with the Celtics a long time by NBA standards. Coaches just don’t stay with one team in the league too long. Sure he could go to another NBA team but I think there’s only a few that would be enticing.

If you search Brad Stevens on Twitter right now there are lots of fans trashing him and some wanting him fired. Maybe his welcome is a little worn out with fans in Boston. Hard to tell by just a small sample size.

My thought process is they only paid the $10 mill buyout because they got the guy they want. Otherwise they could have waited another year and got one of the backup plans for a discount on the buyout. Could be wrong but that’s how I read what’s going on.

I think that is THE KEY. Make the big offer that Boston isn’t interested in matching. Then we have a legitimate shot.

Thank you. Had actually stopped following the basketball team for the most part the past few years. Was pretty surprised to hear this news today. Hopeful to be able to get excited about the team again. Fingers crossed for a good hire.
