I was pushing for McCollum last year. Guy has won everywhere he’s been. Just further proves it this year.

Again. Not a ND fan. I’m an IU fan and a bball fan first. I’d sell Cig today for IU to hire a real basketball coach. IU football sucked basically from the beginning of time so I have no emotional ties to football. Sure I’m glad they are good but if they weren’t I wouldnt give it all that much thought. But I do have a problem with the fact the AD department continues to screw the pooch on basketball.

And you just proved the point that Dolson got lucky with Cig. Everyone else passed on him too. Dolson got lucky. Better hope he gets lucky again because the basketball program is garbage under him and not getting any better.

Not confusing anyone. Dolson is the AD. If he doesn’t have the balls to handle his department and do his job then I dunno what to tell him.

Everyone keeps saying that is fact. Fact is he wasn’t offered and DDV was. He was never given a chance. I got what they paid for. A $4 million loser. Could have offered McCollum 6-7 million and see if he interested or not. And as far as Dolson hiring Cig sure he got lucky and that one paid off. There’s lots of 1 hit wonder bands. As it stands that’s only thing saving Dolson from pitchforks. He’s the idiot who hired Woodson. He’s the one that kept Woodson a year too long, the one who hired the bum we have now, the baseball team stinks again, and women’s basketball is garbage again. It’s a good thing Cig greatly over performed anyone’s expectations because outside of that the Scott Dolson athletics program looks pretty shitty.

It won’t amount to ****. It doesn’t fix the coaching. It’s just more BS for fans to buy into. Already proved they hired the wrong coach so they had to hire a guy to do part of his job for him.

I have zero confidence in DDV. Hes soft as baby ****. Has no swagger or attitude at all. 180 degree opposite of Cig. Hiring him was a huge fail. And hiring thd Carr guy is just more lipstick on a pig to keep fans hopes up and keep them off the AD department backs. No different than when Woodson was hired and Matta and Fife were coming with him to lock up recruiting and blah blah blah. It’s the same BS from IU. The only thing they are consistently good at his hiring the wrong guy and talking a big game about it.

It’s worse than that. IU could have had Brad Stevens too. Stevens had just went to his 2nd title game at end of Crean 3rd season. Had a grandslam 45 minutes up the road and could have fired Crean and hired him. But IU is more worried about image and all the BS than winning. Sat on their hands and stuck with Crean. Did same with Woodson and May. Then could have thrown a massive money offer at McCollum but chose the lesser Drake coach that no one else wanted instead.

Yep same. Plenty of clown on here wanted to push back on McCollum. Now here we are stuck with Archie DeVries. The basketball program is pathetic.

Pretty safe to say IU won’t be adding any new National Championship banners to the rafters anytime soon. Archie 2.0. SMH. Try again in 4 years I guess.

I figure we will be right back in this spot again looking for a coach in 5-6 years. I hope when that time comes that IU doesn’t give Steven’s the time of day. He’s had his chances. He doesn’t deserve anymore. And Dolson really dropped the ball here. Could have offered McCollum money and NIL that he couldn’t possibly say no too but end up with Archie 2.0. Dolsons a bum too.

If he hires Brownell I’m calling it for it right now.

And so will anyone else that’s likely to take the IU job. It’s a different animal.

And you know what his former team just did this year? Went 6-22 and missed their tourney after he just dominated it the last 14 years.

McCollum has D1 experience too. 30-3 school record for wins and heading to tourney with D2 players.
