Personally, while Cronin isn’t “exciting” I’d be happy with him as our coach if it meant we’re consistently a top-25 team again and playing for B1G titles. So glad he's gone soon, but wish he was gone last year... he's screwed up this program more in the past 4 years in more ways than we can count, and walked away with $20M... Maybe he went down there to dissuade Sisley from coming? Just kidding.

Wasn’t that the one year where we finished higher in the BT than preseason expectations? At one point we had one of the top defenses in the country. Going into year 2 he had momentum and expectations rose and from the on we underperformed. Year 2 we were projected to win the BT and still came in second but he needed success in the tournament to help seal the deal and that was a flop.

Take that for what it's worth, but my feeling is that May has been told and that is why he signed an extension. As others have said, things aren't making a lot of sense right now. Scott is still doing his due diligence, but why has all the information suddenly stopped flowing? Maybe I'm delusional or it's just wishful thinking, but I think things aren't making much sense right now for a reason. Scott has been conducting this search for over a year now, IMO. I agree with this take and at the very least I think the info is slowly starting to flow again. HoosierInParadise, Muskie plays the four, Hollywood Mike Miranda and 23 others 26

And 20-30 other schools continue to have coaches I like more than my alma mater. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners He’s a decent coach, but that would not be fun due to the fit being so-so at best and there being better options out there. I would initially have a visceral reaction, then I would rationalize it and have some optimism, then it probably doesn’t go well and I have to back off my pro-Dolson stance, and finally I just follow football until the next coaching search. I still trust Scott right now. We really don’t know what he’s up to. WayneFleekHoosier 1

There's no way Dolson pushed this hard to get rid of Woodson just to pry Brownell away from Clemson. Think of the risk he would be taking. Of course I said essentially the same thing about Woodson when Archie was fired. Juwan Moye 1

OKHOOSIER Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 The Brownell talk sounds like agent nonsense to me trying to garner interest in their client in general. Zero chance Brownell is a candidate JMO. Cronin smoke too most likely. Agents and media people do this crap every big opening, throwing around nonsensical options. It is good for business for Brownell to have stories about being connected to the IU job. lillurk, raorIU, Pagoda and 4 others 7

I think I’d hate a Collins hire less than I’d hate some of these other hires. He’s done a respectable job at a school with literally zero basketball history. Had never made the NCAA tournament before Collins got there. I think a lot of “imagine what he could do with our resources” responses are copium with some of these candidates, but I think it actually fits with Collins. He’s a good coach. Northwestern plays in a high school gym and has a 7.2% acceptances rate. IU is in a different universe when it comes to recruiting opportunities. tkbbn, str8baller, thebigweave and 5 others 8
