….it was posted a while back that Dolson had his man. Dusty quite possibly was never seriously vetted by Dolson because he didn’t need to. All he energy has been on someone Else, obviously.

We know who is that someone else.

Let people believe what they want. No one is making fun of you for a Nate Oats picture. We’re all on the same team. If it doesn’t happen we’ll still be here.

I'm not policing beliefs. Everyone can cling on to whatever dream scenario they want. Doesn't mean a dose of realism isn't warranted.

The Oats picture is a relic from the last search. Paints a pretty sad picture that we keep finding ourselves in this position.

I’m still on the Beard train, but I’ve said that the last 2 times we’re hired a coach so I’m not getting my hopes up.

Wow...a Dalton sighting! Welcome to the discussion brother!

Yes because they are smart. They know he is a hell of a coach and would win big here. They also probably root for a school who if they had a chance to land a home run like beard it would happen. However the joke is on them! We are iu and will not hire a top coach because he made mistakes in the past!

Our holier than thou attitude needs to go away.  There is no coach or fan that is perfect. Everyone has skeletons in their closet and nobody is perfect.  I really trust Dolson is really looking at him and doing his due diligence to see if he’s improved himself and is making amends for what he had done.  Nobody is perfect and it’s time to look the other way and give this guy at least a look.  In Scott Dolson I trust!

The May news can't possibly be a shocker to anyone. Michigan never would've heard the end of it had they not locked him up after the season they're having, especially knowing his IU ties and the undercurrent of chatter about him and the IU position. It was stated earlier that had May really wanted be at IU he could've easily just remained at FAU for another season and waited out the inevitable disaster that was this year at IU. I really doubt that Stevens is realistic at this point (hopefully I'm wrong). So we're down to Drew, Beard, and Cronin, followed by a handful of "hope it carries over" coaches.

Dolson isn’t your problem. He wanted to hire Fitzgerald as the football coach. But his boss, a female at that, might have something to say about it…just like she did with the Fitzgerald (non) hire.

Don’t need to win the press conference just need to get a college basketball coach that’s a grinder and with ius resources they will be just fine

How far down do you think Louisville got before they ended up with Pat Kelsey? I’m guessing the Louisville boards lost their mind.   College of Charleston head coach is killing it at Louisville.   Kentucky hired a former Utah Valley and BYU head coach.  I’m sure Kentucky fans thought they were getting an established high major head coach.   They didn’t and Mark Pope in year 1 has that fan base as excited as they have been in a while.  These 2 will need to continue building the program however both have their programs off to a fantastic start.   Iu will be just fine in my opinion no matter who Dolson ends up hiring as long as that coach is a college basketball lifer and grinder that program will have a chance to crawl out of the mediocre hole they have been living in

Could be true. OTOH, Crean, Archie, and Sampson are all lifers and grinders.

The IU basketball job is hard. That’s why you get paid a lot to do it. It’s a harder job than Oklahoma and Dayton and Marquette and so on and so forth.

Then she’s holier than thou  too!  He’s supposed to be innocent until proven guilty!  She dropped the charges!  Everyone needs to get past it and move on.

IU has to really try to F*** up this hire! If they do? Well?

If it’s Brownell then I think we can fully state this program has no desire to have a good basketball program. I wouldn’t be a fan of Cronin but at least we would be in the NCAA Tournament the majority of the time. I have faith in Dolson, but how things have went the last 25 years, I’m just cautious in how all this will play out.
