Disclaimer for the fun police patrolling the boards

This is a free message board so some of the information that is provided on this free message board may end up not happening.  I promise everyone will go on with their lives and move on if the information turns out to not happen.  We will continue to talk IU basketball and have fun conversations and even arguments on BT Banners after the search is completely done.   Again information you see on this free message board may or may not happen.   Enjoy your day

But but but we might be mad at the administration if you don’t get Stevens. BTownbanners said we would . Our administration is incompetent. Lol

How do I block seeing a poster?

3 lines in top corner. Go to account settings, ignored users, start typing screen name in search box, click idiots name when it appears.  Check the boxes of content you want to ignore.

Really cuts down on the noise

As I’ve said before you have to take all of this with a grain of salt. Guys with little bits of information they’ve heard share and then they begin to feed off each other. Supposedly some of the most connected posters were telling us Billy Donovan was a done deal in town looking a horse farms. The Stevens stuff has always been crazy too. When you start hearing things from other sources then you can start thinking it may be credible.

Do you find Trilly Donovan credible?

Dusty May.  After that, and I don’t think it will get past that, but I’d give Scott Drew a call.  You?

I’m trying to figure out from my old coach if he knows if Scott would leave but he’s been sick so I haven’t gotten an answer from him yet. I’m gonna wait until after we hear about Steven’s before I ask again.

I probably didn't make myself clear which is normal for me

Do I think we have talked to Brad, yesterday. Do I think it is as close as some are making it out to be, no. Do I think he is coming, maybe.

To me if the things about the meeting with AAU coaches and what was said is true then I would think that could be validated and reported by national media

This is the best answer to your question IMO

Aside from the explanations others have offered, the media folks have journalistic standards to meet before reporting something. Others can probably outline those better than I but usually they’d have to get 2 or more sources on background to print something.

And that’s setting aside their considerations about continuing relationships with sources. If you know something about a coaching search it doesn’t mean you can print it

Isn’t the Billy stuff what got Justin Albers ran out of the media? I feel like he was a pretty notable name in IU media at the time and the BD stuff came from him. That’s purely off of memory though so someone can correct me if I misremember.

Okay I have been thinking ,a lot of people say they can use the job opening  as a way to get a raise at their current job ,could that be possible with say Dusty May ?  I mean anyone who is  not under a rock could see he was going to be gone after bragging about well just wait till its my guys and then proceeds to buy the players over the summer .  Anyway  just thought maybe that is why a low buy out so this time he might get an even better one because he is doing pretty well up there .

Also I keep hearing and ready about everyone under the sun  for coach  .

Plus  something about IU getting into the NCAA tournament ?Seriously ?

I really hope I am wrong on this and Brad is named the next coach at Indiana University

I am happy to eat some crow on this because it would definitely make IU basketball relevant again. By the way I would want ketchup with my crow.

You hope you are wrong?  You said on the last page that *maybe* he might come......You are really confusing at times

I would bet a lot more on Dusty than anyone else.

That's my guess if you had to put a gun to someone else's head. Stevens would be great. I think May would be great if not better because I would have some concerns about Stevens longevity if he got burned out from coaching in his 30s. Stevens would definitely be the splasher more exciting hire, but May leaving UM would be pretty sweet. Not going to complain one bit if we get either.
