It’s not gonna be Stevens. 
 

I think Dusty is a very solid chance. But not guaranteed.  
 

Indiana is gonna have to do a lot of back channeling to create a roster.  
 

If we hire a coach that makes a tournament run we will have limited time to get things rolling. I imagine our AD is very cognizant of this. 
 

I think we ultimately probably regret not getting Beard in the long run.

so someone on here apparently knows a BoT member from decades ago and they are spilling info about the next IU bball hire to them

then another poster who has “sources” telling us that we’re in good shape with BS is telling us that the BoT is being pointed in the wrong direction intentionally

So let me get this straight.. the BoT doesn’t know anything about what’s going on but people on this forum do….

and we’re supposed to believe that the reason for the smokescreen is because BS doesn’t want it out there because he is busy “building the roster for the playoffs”

I have no idea who the next coach will be and I don’t claim to but anyone buying this load of BS is either to stupid to know any better or is letting their excitement over IU hiring Brad Stevens not allow them to process rational thought

Maybe.  Better than Cronin in my mind. Similar to May, although I like May more.  
 

would definitely try to bring a guard heavy offense.   They aren’t so great this year with some good players.  Idk.

Actually it’s making a free message board during a coaching search more fun.   Keep them coming boys.  Got to keep this place entertained until March.   The actual team isn’t going to do it so find the fun elsewhere.  Now since it is a free message board everyone has their own choice on if they believe the posts or not.

Yep, the buyout market is just heating up. Alex Len was bought out and thought to have a deal with the Pacers until the Lakers swooped in after their trade fell through. Title contenders like the Celtics will be working the buyout market hard

Would also add that there’s not much he could do now even if he were announced tomorrow. Woody’s the coach (I know I know), transfer portal isn’t open, it would only make it awkward.

Jerry’s timing from the other day makes sense; after season or BTT, before tourney if it’s the white whale.

Still top 30 in the NET with some nice wins and easily a tourney team.   His success has made it to where a season like they are having is a down year.   Sign me up.   FWIW IU has never finished better then 30 in the NET era

Someone else mentioned it earlier and apologies for the lack of credit on this, but would we not throw that number at some of the other super long shots? Oats, Few, Wright, et. al.? Or is 9 figures a Stevens and only Stevens number? If the answer is IDK I understand completely, just curious. Seems odd to go from 100 Million to Brad to Dusty which won’t cost top 10 coach money IMO.

I dont believe Oats or Wright are interested at all. I could see Few with the NIL situation being better here.  I'd take Few over Dusty every day.

I'd take Few over everyone that's been mentioned outside of Brad Stevens. Dude is just a straight up good basketball coach.

I was beginning to wonder if we would circle back around to Few before too long. I honestly think we'd have a better shot at him than A) many people think and B) several other candidates.

Just want to fast forward all the way to March, I’m guessing the same like everyone else, announcement before or after the BTT.
