If it is DeVries you are clearly discounting RonMexico’s contributions to this board haha.  Jk but not really .

You did mention DeVries a while ago before anybody else.  I'd give you credit, not that that matters much around here, lol.

I find it so hilarious that the chatter for Darian was so minimal last week compared to Brownell. Now that WVU didn't make the tournament, he's the new Brownell but slightly more accepted here.

If you bought into the hype that IU was going to hire Brad Stevens or Jay Wright or any other established “big fish”….that’s on you. Kentucky and Louisville told you this was going to be the case. It was never going to happen no matter how many different gifs and encrypted messages were sent by a select few posters.

I repeatedly said I'd believe Stevens when I saw it, but whatever.

This may not age well....but we'll see. I'll be happy with anyone no named Brad Brownell at this point.

Plus his son got hurt and was out all year. Tough to lose a 20+ ppg player for the year

So, without his son, he's ****? If thats the case, we are putting too much stock in the dude other than what he did at Drake....and I will say McCollum much more impressive run at Drake...and he does not have to worry about his son being on the team

There is still no legit confirmation that Devries is the choice. He would be a really good choice, but he may not be the choice.

I do think that in the next 36 hours, Devries will announce that he has signed a WVU extension, is leaving for Iowa, or is leaving for IU.

I also think that IU announces our choice within the next 48 hours, which means it's Devries, Collins, or some really famous guy.

@Tony! Toni! Toné! has always been on the big fish train.  I would not hate DD (similar categories as UK and L'ville hires) but keeping on eye on the big fish seems to be a good idea.

We do have a history of head coaches with the initials DD who previously were head coaches at West Virginia.

Our good friend, who of course led the team after the Kelvin Sampson fiasco, spent a week as the Mountaineers' head coach in 2007.

Maybe his new wife won’t make him quit when the AD is rude to her like WVU.

Several of their quality wins were after the injury but good analysis out of you I guess.

Would be super excited to hire a coach with limited experience and zero games won in the NCAA tournament, ever.

Sounds like Pope and Kelsey

Getting a sitting young Power 5 coach would be a good look for IU.   DeVries would be a solid choice and I believe he was on my original list of coaches I wanted IU to seriously look at.   If it’s him then IU will have an actual college basketball coach running their program again.    Get this wrapped up Scott I got some First 4 to focus on tonight

great points, I know McCollum developed quite the little fan club here , but he was always a fall back option. IU was always going to go after a more experienced possibly sitting P4 Head Coach if it could. Even if he wasn't choice 1, 2 , or 3 I think this is a solid hire. I agree not a HR or Grand Slam. ( I'm sure the insiders will have their stories as to what fell apart or how it did with our supposed Big Name)

20 + wins EVERY YEAR for 6 years at Drake (I get the 30 is impressive for McCollum BUT he's gotta do it with a roster rebuild before I would be sold and probably will) Got WVU to the tourney in year 1 (They got screwed period UNC was Nepotism and you won't change my mind.) Dude can navigate the portal and his son is a DAWG. If this all wraps up then cool .

If not? then I'm EXHAUSTED

Drunk uncle

Hey, I am just glad we got Sisley family clarification.  Just odd the random people followed are 3 of the 5 most talked about candidates for the role.  Put a smile on my face the response though.

Huh?  His son didn't play a game during the Big 12 season and they beat the #2 and #7 teams.
