Did we just dodge the biggest heartbreak of all time or is this just a setup for when Brad - I mean Dusty - returns years later to bring us to the top?

If Dusty had come to IU and left after a couple years to go to the NBA I am not sure this board could have survived. I think it would have exploded.

We start building Cig's statue earlier than planned. He delivered the most improbable story in college sports history -- 98%+ of IU fans will forever be grateful for the 16-0 title in the biggest college sport. Just my $0.02.

If he won a title here, I'd be fine with him leaving even after 2 seasons. I'm just glad I can now like the guy without him being a conference opponent and that Michigan should be much less formidable, at least this year, with someone else running things.

Ann Arbor seemingly didn’t care they won a title. My family was on that campus the day after the title game and said you couldn’t tell a championship had been won. Combine that with the lack of enthusiasm I saw by Michigan fans at the national title game and it’s not hard to see why Dusty left. Michigan will need to decide if they are serious and care about basketball or program will continue to see extreme swings. Also for IU fans who wanted Dusty, you have to wonder if being treated like a king in Bloomington rather than an afterthought in Ann Arbor would have kept him around longer or lure of NBA would have been to strong after a couple of years?

Yep. He went to one of IU's camps. Then he had a follow-up official visit this weekend. And here we are. The ratings services haven't even evaluated him yet.

I sincerely doubt we land any UM decommits, but I'd sure love to be pleasantly surprised.

Track and field? Okay - he likely shot puts - not a big deal. But lacrosse? That's a speed/quickness/movement sport, and wrestling? That's a balance and quick hands sport. All of this is good.

It's got to be weird that UM fans care more about the OSU FB game than your CBB title. Heck, I bet a decent number of them would trade their CBB natty for a few five star FB players. I don't think this plays out much differently if he came to IU. I mean, he could have come here last year and he didn't, so while I'm sure he likes IU we're not the strongest draw. I think he wants to do the NBA thing regardless, just my opinion. I'm thrilled he left UM.

The UM fanbase handling this exactly the way you’d expect. Dude took their stone dead program, won a Natty in 2 years, stiff-armed UNC and then took a job he clearly felt he just couldn’t pass up and they’re acting like the guy pulled a Kiffin on them.

I don’t see why not. But IF not, said player would just sue in the most beneficial court possible for where he’d like to go.

This will leave Michigan in a bad spot late in the game for next year's team. My guess is several of the players will want out of the commitment depending on who the next coach is.

I suppose we can get him in 3 years or so when CDD moves on and Dusty is fired by the Mavs. LOL Also, this all happens after he was his team set for the fall who is ranked pretty high.

He's an all-state wrestler. I'm no OL coach but I'd guess a lot of those skills and abilities translate. He also does track & field and lacrosse... quite the athlete. We'll see, but he feels like a great find. Recruiting is more than just being high bid for blue chippers.
