  8. I’m an IU grad who has been an IU football fan for 50 years. I will be at Lucas Oil Saturday night with all 3 of my sons, one of whom is currently an IU student. Trying to imagine standing in awe after the game looking at an Indiana team that will be the unanimous #1 team in the county and the favorite to win the national championship. Beyond my wildest dreams. Indiana 28, Ohio St 24. LFG!

  13. That’s great Adidas, thanks, but we need you involved a little bit before 12-0 and Heisman contention. We’ve got a big portal coming up and like it or not we’re one of, if not the best football program you have. So maybe throw some $ our way now for the portal and trust our staff. In return you’ll get that exposure you want… /rant over

  14. Personally, I love that the rest of the country - the SEC in particular - believes that "if Indiana can do it, so can they." Cignetti was a perfect storm and was both beneficiary and master of the portal and NIL. He brought 13 starters from a ranked team with him. He brought culture and expectations. He brought a familiar, successful, and experienced staff. The turnaround was rapid because of it and much bigger than any of us had a right to anticipate. What he did here cannot be duplicated. Ever. It was a one time event, managed perfectly with a very defined and singular set of circumstances. He was the perfect fit at the perfect time at the perfect place with the perfect circumstances. Lane Kiffin isn't going to do any more at LSU than he did at Ole Miss and LSU paid $70 million to find out. That will happen all over the country. And here we'll sit with everyone else wondering how in the hell we did it. They aren't paying attention to the why or the how. They care only about the "what." And we will watch them all go crazy trying to figure out what we already know. Curt Cignetti - first of all - is one of one. He's Bob Knight reincarnated....football version. The circumstances under which he came here and succeeded won't ever exist again. And it will never be "spending" that succeeds. You have to have what he does....an acute understanding of "how" and the discipline to stay with it. Anyone think Lane Kiffin can do that? He also got every move right when he got here and has continued. He is a leader and he builds leaders. I wish I had a daughter so I could introduce her to Aidan Fisher and others. I wish I were hiring and needed young people to grow and run my company. How many kids on that team will kill it professionally? I am going to truly enjoy the rest of college football chase and try to emulate what Indiana has done. The fools will never understand and I promise we will be the beneficiaries of the craziness.

  18. @HoosierHuddle asked the question in this presser. For context: 2023 247 IUFB Composite Rank - 68 247 OSU Composite Rank - 4 2024 247 IUFB Composite Rank - 66 247 OSU Composite Rank - 5 2025 247 IUFB Composite Rank - 49 247 OSU Composite Rank - 4 2026 247 IUFB Overall Rank - 30 247 OSU Overall Rank - 6 Another way to see the gap closing is by the Avg. 2025 IUFB Avg: 86.51 OSU Avg: 91.51 2025 IUFB Avg: 88.0 OSU Avg: 92.07

  19. ^The headline was extremely misleading: “Heupel understands the restlessness among fans, but said nobody’s expectations are higher than his or anybody else’s within the program. “I wouldn’t want low expectations. That’s part of why I want to be here,” Heupel told On3. “We’ll win big.”

  26. Try to get the next Curt Cignetti. End up with the current Barry Odom. Yipee-skippy!

  27. This is spot on. There is nobody else coaching right now at any level that has the ability to demand what Cignetti demands and keep everyone bought in. There is no “next Cignetti” out there right now. The answer he gave in yesterday’s press conference about whether the loser of the OSU-IU game deserves a bye is very telling. We know how every other coach in the country would have answered that question. Cignetti said his team needs to go out and earn it. Because he knows they will. Enjoy and appreciate what we have right now, my friends. We are the envy of every fan base in the country.

  31. This actually began in 2020 when Indiana beat Michigan for the first time since 1987. Consider this moment rock bottom for the Harbaugh era of Michigan football, and we saw what ”measures were taken“ the following season... Now Indiana‘s immediate success under Curt Cignetti is contributing to the rapid firing of coaches all over the country. “If Indiana can do it then there’s no reason why we can’t have immediate success as well!” This is misguided and is getting a lot of quality coaches canned prematurely or due to irrational standards from their own programs. It’s quite incredible to watch.

  32. We've been eyeing this potential game for weeks. And now it is set. The lines are out and right now IU is generally around +5.5. This will be a very hard game, but if we can win at Autzen, we can win this one. Go IU! Radio - Varsity Network Radio - WHCC105

  35. My concern is how we start the game. The last three or four games we have not been very crisp at the start. That will hurt a lot against OSU. We need to play the first quarter the same way we play the third quarter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  37. I hated Woodson more than about anyone, but it was only a fraction of how I would’ve felt if Woodson had left for another job and intentionally tanked IU’s best season in program history in the process. How can LSU feel good about this hire watching what Lans is willing to do to his old team on the way out?

  38. I'll happily lead off. I watched yesterday with full intent of making up my mind on whether or not OSU is better than Indiana. They are solid. They are not a better football team. Indiana will be healthy with something to prove. OSU is coming off an emotional win with nothing to prove. As Pat McAfee would say : GIMME' THE INDIANA HOOSIERS!!!!! IU 20 OSU 17

  41. This is the beginning of a 4 game stretch where we are gonna learn a lot about our team. 0-4 possible a new topic getting created 1-3 disappointing but we can grow from it 2-2 kinda what we expected. 3-1 oh yeah we can make some noise 4-0 we’re back baby

  42. I think the key to this game will be mistakes. The team that turns the ball over and has too many penalties will be the loser. It is important to start quickly and not wait till the second quarter to get going.

  43. I know we’re now “that team” when I watch the rest of the country play. For the first time ever you can see how much better and more balanced we are than the standard college football team, including many brand name programs. We have size up front that, when combined with our play calling and ball IQ, rivals any top pass rush in the country. Our DBs actually pick the ball off and team tackle. Our offense knows which play to make given the situation. We can run over anyone. We have an elite tandem at WR, like OSU, plus another 3 deep with Riley, Becker and Williams. Our QB is poised, elite, and can run. Our coach is a football maven. Our special teams are efficient. OSU really hasn’t played a team like us. They’re rightfully 1a heading into the game, while we’re 1b, but it’s truly a toss up. This isn’t a “if we win it will be close/if they win it could get ugly” type of game. I truly believe that we can win and win by more than one score. I feel more confident going into this game than @Oregon. My biggest concern is the health of our o-line and if we can be balanced in our pass blocking. But we’re also indoors, at home, and you can tell that our team is excited at this opportunity and will not play scared for one minute.

  44. Virtually nobody in the history of basketball has ever shot 58% from the midrange. Kevin Durant, one of if not the best midrange shooters is a career 48.1% from 10-16 feet. He’s shot over 58% from that range once in 18 seasons. If you happen to be completely wide open then sure, take one of those shots I guess, but there’s no reason to ever prioritize that shot. Virtually nobody is good enough at them to make it more efficient than a 3 or a paint shot.
