Creighton with 8 million plus

Duke allegedly threw a 4.8 million bag at Cooper F.

Our 10mm+ is a nice pile but it’s far, far from being an unassailable amount of cash.

That being said, one can certainly point to a number of teams that have performed much better than us with less resources.

It's ok to say we're off to a rough start, but I still think we will be fine in the long run. I haven't lost faith. But there is no way this is going how he thought it would. 

Precisely.  We can win with a competent coach because we're Indiana with our "resources".  The proof will be in the pudding, but at this point there's been zero to get excited about.  Hopefully that will change but thus far meh.

I was reading that Auburn basketball was like 8th or 9th in the SEC in NIL. They just have to be on point with their evaluations and get the right guys. So it can be done.

His father’s family is from Louisville area and in an interview with Louisville 247 he said it’s like a second home.  Kelsey reached out last year when he got the job however timing wasn’t right but said this year Kelsey was first coach to call and it worked out 

 

Dix when he originally entered portal Creighton was seen as the place he would end up to be closer to home for family reasons.  IU wasn’t even mentioned with Dix until they got him on campus.   Creighton paid enough and was home 

 

these recruitments are not always just about the money 

IU paid a bunch of mercenaries last year because they could and look how that ended up.    
 

I get people being on edge with where this program has been however for me I’m fine with letting an actual college basketball coach that just built a power 5 program from scratch last year and built a staff and team that beat Zags, Arizona, Kansas on the road and Iowa St a chance to do his job and not freak out over a recruiting battle miss

Yeah I went to USI, so I’m all in on Pearl. I hope Auburn wins it all this year but I have serious doubts it will happen.

2 things that I keep coming back to - one we are waiting to finish our announcement on staff - that would help a bit imho.

Teams are still playing - the best teams - these kids will hit the portal just like they did last year (especially those that feel their bench got too short and pushed them out a bit). You still fish when the waters are rough - at the beginning and very end when prices are inflated and values are silly - but you know your best catches come when the waters settle a little - around that Apr 15 to Apr 22 range imho.

Being “only” 8th or 9th in the SEC is similar to only being the 8th hottest woman in a room full of 250 supermodels.

The Auburn men’s basketball collective “On to Victory” allegedly had 13mm (I.e. more than IU) to dole out this past season.  They are very competitive.

IU was always going to have to grind just like the rest of college basketball that go through a total roster turnover.  Don’t care how much money your program has to fill it.   Thinking they were going to sign every top 20 transfer just because they have money was unrealistic.  Other programs grinded with 0 top 70 transfer additions when they did a reboot.    Just the way it is.  Embrace the suck and embrace the grind.   IU has someone that has had to do this before at the power 4 level and ended up with a staff and players that competed with top programs in his first year.   Now a coach on his previous staff for 1 year has a head coaching job and another is the associate head coach at a power 5 program near his hometown.   If you want to panic have at it however from my point of view IU is in solid shape for next year

I like our coach but Dusty May should have been  here last season.

This is the 2nd player we've offered or almost offered 2 million to that said no thanks. That has to be slightly concerning. 

Why Conwell went to Louisville. I read his family has ties to the area. Did went to Creighton to be near his sick mother. I'm not concerned
