Popular Post 94Bulldog Posted April 5 Popular Post Posted April 5 When I was a junior in hs, I had no date 2 weeks before the prom. 2 days later one of the senior cheerleaders entered the portal. Somehow, I had enough NIL to convince her to go with me and had a great time at prom. We had quite a fun summer before she left for college. Back to the point… Moral of the story, there are 18 days left for players to ENTER the portal. And we’ve got people panicking about who we haven’t signed when there might be better options available in 2 weeks! Hoosier DaDa, gfeltner28, IvanRenkosillegitimatechild and 9 others 8 4 Quote

He may take a discount compared to what he might get on the open market, but he's going to get paid well, because he deserves it. skhoosier2, go iu bb, lillurk and 3 others 6 Quote

Also, CDD wouldn't be a very good dad to teach his son he should undersell himself and not get paid what he's worth while also hurting his son's lifetime earnings in a huge way. That would be irresponsible of him in my eyes. IvanRenkosillegitimatechild 1 Quote
Elly Da La Dude Posted April 5 Posted April 5 If Murphy is truly one of our new assistant coaches, securing Mouhamed Dioubate should be a top priority. He was Alabama's best defender and averaged over 7 points per game in just 16 minutes of playtime. His defensive presence and efficiency on offense would be a huge asset to the team. He wasn't a Murphy recruit, Bryan Hodgson was the recruiter according to 247. IU should go after him whether or not Murphy is coming to IU if CDD wants him. Maybe Murphy could give him a nudge in IU's direction even if he stays at Alabama since he's supposedly close with CDD. Quote

JustWinBaby Posted April 5 Posted April 5 Goodness this thread got rowdy last night lol It's not about winning the press conference. Making big splashy portal signings is exciting, but look what happened this past year. The college basketball season isn't even OVER yet, and there's still almost 3 weeks left for guys to ENTER the portal. Would I have liked to land Conwell and/or Dix? Absolutely. But they went where they went for personal reasons not directly related to Indiana basketball. Missing on those guys seems like it was an inevitability, regardless of who's the coach or how toxic the fanbase (allegedly) is. Myles Rice committed to IU on April 13th of last year. Ballo on April 16th, and Carlyle on the 20th. And that was with a coach who had been here 4 years and had a staff going back many years with several connections to those players. They came to play for "terrible" fans and a terrible coach for less NIL money than we have now. We have a long way to go before we can make any judgments on how DeVries is attacking the portal this season. I'm not going to say "chill," because I'm anxious about all this too. But we definitely need to let it breathe. Things are going to start happening pretty quickly, especially once the full staff is announced.
