Class of '66 Old Fart

(2024) - Liam McNeeley to UConn

Recommended Posts

When’s the last time we battled it out with Kansas for any recruit let alone a 5 star? And won? Just shows power of NIL and how now all the blue bloods can participate. Best of Luck, Liam, whichever school you choose.

Yes it’s great now we offer a bag of cash and tractor

Excellent.  Now let's get Fland and hopefully make up ground with Queen.

Having Queen's very good friend who can remind him every day (directly or not) who he can be playing with next year certainly won't hurt.

Winning recruiting battles against the top teams is good, but beating them on the court will be even better. I want to assume we are going to win every game we play..... again. Been a while since I have felt that way. McNeely is a good start, but we should be getting kids like him year in and year out.

I know there's usually some dark clouds in your camp, but don't sleep on what we have on this ears team. It's a pretty impressive amount of talent.

Absolutely. I think this years team has tremendous potential. It reminds me a little of the 81 team. Full of talent but took a while to figure it out. Granted, that team had IT but the pieces were there. This team looks talented and deep, especially in the frontcourt. It will be fun, and sometimes frustrating, to watch them grow.

81very well may be a good comparison. That was an infuriatingly wonderful year. And the year after Woddy could help.....

Yeah, that 80 team was another what could have been teams. Injuries suck.

Woody got hozed by injury and one year. Mike Woodson wants retribution ! The best wounds to heal are old wounds! After they've had decades to fester and build resentment.

My big IU day with McNeeley commit got even better when I returned home from C-bus, OH a bit ago and my season tickets AND a new IU hat I ordered were waiting for me in my mailbox. I'm like a kid at Christmas and only now starting to catch up with the boards and all the excitement. No doubt that I'll stay up WAY too late tonight (morning) - LOL!

I thought last years team was pretty good and if X hadn’t gotten hurt, we probably would have won the B10 and had a # 2 or 3 seed in the tournament but we did earn a 4 seed.  This years team has better potential talent and has the potential to be good, just how good remains to be seen but the talent and potential is there.  Don’t discount this team yet!

Everyone knew this all along, not a surprise.. No starting spot available at KU for him anyway..

Kansas is quickly becoming my least favorite fan base. The typical "we didn't want him anyway" card.

We'll hear the same thing from UK if we get Fland. Those who don't consider us a blue-blood anymore now view us as blue-blood recruits' fallback option.
