I really wonder what reaction Dolson was expecting from both fans and media?

Did he think the "IU guy" thing would win the day, or I wonder if he expected some mixed reactions at best and he would have to sell this.

I would assume he knew it will be a miss bag of responses. If it were me I couldn't care less what some fans think

I doubt he cares honestly. If he feels like he has the guy, then he shouldn’t.

Also, while Penny was an absolutely huge star for a few years, injuries really cut his career short, and he had effectively fallen off the map years before current recruits were even born.

Watching all of these games lately most styles are pretty much the same offensively. What you need are a few guys who just can make plays when the offense stagnates

why not mike woodson? why can mike woodson not be a very, very successful coach at IU, in the tradition of our best basketball coaches, giving Indiana fans the type of basketball we expect and deserve, and bringing in the type of highly rated talent we expect at IU, developing them, and sending them on to the NBA where they belong, in the meantime putting the traditional IU culture back in place?

I also want very badly to see the circle offense back in place against the zone. not sure if that is going to happen. I want to see that again so bad.

I'm good with this hire, very good with this hire.

I honestly don't think he cares.  He really believes in Woody, I'm guessing!

I'm closing in on 73, so I'm guessing that puts me squarely in 'blue' hair territory. But I also know I have lived a good life and I don't feel entitled in any way. I say let the young folks have their time. I get almost as much pleasure watching kids have fun as I do having fun myself.

Obviously he won’t, but I’d be fascinated to hear Dolson really take us through his process and how he arrived at his priorities. Clearly he prioritized history far more than I, at least, expected. And he was apparently unconcerned by zero college coaching experience of any kind. Not being critical of it, but I’m curious to know how, or if, his profile evolved.
