So Brunk is basically a bonus scholarship for this year. Perfect.   I want all our guys back, but hope CMW makes it perfectly clear that spots will be filled. Players get to consider options, and so do we.

There will be more than 2 spots available though because not everyone will be back.

Why doesn't Brunk count moving next year?

Because with the COVID year your seniors that want to come back will not count against your overall scholly numbers.   That is only for seniors and this year only

Gotcha. Felt like I knew that, but couldn't figure it out. Thank you.

Man if you were a good senior laden team and had a strong freshman class coming in to replace those seniors it will be interesting to watch those teams

For example Butler has 4 seniors coming back. 3 of which are starters and 1 is a role player. That said those roles could change next year for them.

Or freaking Wisconsin if their seniors come back.

I can not take another year of Brad Davison.

Most of their seniors have already said they are not coming back. Trice, Potter have already said so. Reuvers is already in the transfer portal. Also read a few articles that acted like Davison was not coming back.

They have a lot of young guys from the last two recruiting cycles that have not played hardly at all.

Everyone forgetting about Gunn? He just announced his commitment to IU and Coach Woodson yesterday.

It was posted in his thread.

I'll expand on this and add that it's only for seniors who stay at the school they were with this past season. If they transfer they will count against their new school's scholarship limit. Durham will be 1 of the 13 allowed scholarships at Providence, for example. So we (and other schools) can't just go out and grab a bunch of transferring seniors that don't count against the limit.

I kind of want them to count against the limit.  Get off to a good start and see what we can add with the 2022 class.

I initially thought Woodson would be clueless to who he needed because being in the NBA.  But since he was bucking for the job and Archie was clearly on the hot seat I wonder if he had started working on a list of guys that fit his system.

Guy's got 30 years in b-ball.  I am sure he can figure it out pretty quickly.
