Fire Coach Woodson + Assessment of Former Posters
akumanina replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That's the biggest fear that I have. Or even if he can fill out the roster, all we got is a bunch of lesser talented kids that don't fit well for whatever he's trying to do. I also fear that Ware, Mbako, and Reneau would all leave. -
Michael Durr to Indiana (South Florida Transfer)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing. -
Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff
akumanina replied to Hoosierfan1901's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
In a lot of our down years, player like Hulls was the exact type of player that we missed. We need someone like him every year. It's ironic 'Indiana' University has been unsuccessful for quite a while to bring in 'Indiana' shooters. -

Including how to make a 3 pointer with one hand. Kids want to be on ESPN highlights. -
Career highlights are missed 3s and dunks in PRACTICE, and he will go on and get drafted in the lottery. Life is good!

(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
akumanina replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Best of luck to Rob Phin. Hope he's gonna have a great, injury-free season. -
Hopefully he gets a good NIL deal so he can support his wife and the baby.

Xavier being one of the star players on the team, it'd be interesting to see how CMW would deal with this issue. The way the coach handles this can make or break the team. Hopefully X learns his lesson, gets back on track, and becomes a positive force on the team as a leader.

The only good thing is one of them is going to lose. I wish both lose and get the heck out of the tournament, but unfortunately, one of them will survive. If I have to pick one, I would pick UNC to move on because I don't like to see K gets another chance to win one more.
-
They should be picky. A team in a power 5 conferences won't win many games with Stewart and Kopp level of players in the starting lineup. Sorry to say but Durr wasn't much of a player at this level of college basketball. We only had XJ who panned out at this level.

Memphis Basketball hit today with 7 Major Violations
akumanina replied to NVFalcons1990's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
'failure to cooperate, obstruction of the investigation, failure to report acts of noncompliance in a timely fashion and a failure to disclose or provide access to information' Violating the rules and regulations is one thing, but the folks at Memphis took this to the next level. -

Geez Iowa, why were you be so lucky against IU if you eventually were going to get @$$ kicked by the almighty Richmond? -

Durham's extensive knowledge on PU might've helped. Good for him!

I could see Jeff wanted to help the coach a little since they're both UA alums. They must know each other pretty well and in good relationship.
-
Talk about a bucket of salt on wounds. Forget about Eric Gordon recruitment, UK will be replacing our spot for UI's most hated program.

Glad someone on the team has said this. I'm happy that I see a strong, vocal leader in Xavier and coach Hunter brought him in. But at the same time, I feel a little bit disappointed that the person had to be a transfer student, not one of the returning players. It's not easy for a transfer student to take over the leadership role, which really shows Xavier's character.

These just look ok, and maybe borderline boring. I want to see a little more aggressive and futuristic designs. Other than the dark jersey, all the other jerseys are pretty much the same as we've seen in the past.
-
You gotta make sure to get the outfit too.

So Wisconsin could've become the IU. That'd be dreadful.

Definitely Duke and UNC are using the same 'apprenticeship' model. The difference is who each school picked. Hubert Davis was a former NBA player with media experience before coming back to UNC; he seems to be outspoken and have outgoing personality. IMO, he would probably try to establish his own program with minimal intervention by Roy Williams. Scheyer seems to be quite the opposite; he could well be a great coach in the making, but I'm suspecting that K picked someone he can easily control. So Scheyer will be the new coach, but he will not really be the coach if that makes sense. I wonder if 5 stars and high 4 stars would want to come play for 34 year old coach who doesn't have much on his resume.
-
He's 33 now, and will be 34 when he takes over one of the storied college basketball programs. Is it just me that thinks this is not going to work? Obviously, K would help a lot for as long as it takes, but then It's not really Scheyer's program. He's nothing but a puppet.
-
Isn't he making too much money for that role? I don't know how much a front office guy usually makes, but probably they earn less than coaches.

Snake bitten for 4 years? That's tough luck.

Brannon's attorney clarified that Brannon paid $135 for his player to see a psychiatrist because the psychiatrist that UC hired wasn't well qualified. I think UC wasn't satisfied with the on-court product and was trying to fire him with cause so they won't have to pay him a lot. After the kind of success UC had with Bob Huggins and Mick Cronin, they probably thought Brannon was subpar.
