I get people don't like what he says, but at times I think his "perspective" is ok. A lot of what's said isn't backed by actual facts just what people want to believe. His recruiting predictions are bad, but he normally just says Peegs doesn't know ****, and for the most part he's right.

If he didn’t block anyone who disagrees with him I’d take him more seriously. He’s totally uninterested in actual discourse.

He's not the only one though.

All I know is that he only appeared when Woodson’s seat was getting hot last February and became a lightning rod for Woodson supporters on Twitter.

He blocked anyone who disagreed with him so that his posts would only receive likes and the replies would be people applauding and agreeing with him.

It all reeked of a weird subversion campaign by the staff (or a rogue element of the staff) from the beginning. And this became more obvious during portal season as he repeatedly got predictions wrong, because the only info he had was from folks inside the program, not from agents or people close to the prospects.

Switch Woodson and Collins with the same lineups and watch Collins blow his former Northwestern squad out of the gym. It’s ridiculous to think Collins couldn't do better with our resources. They've owned us the last few years.Should he be our first choice? No, but if it comes to that I won't be mad.I actually thought he would have been a great hire the last cycle.

10000% agree.  Hes on my short list!

Odds that dmv is mark turgeon’s agent?

This sounds more personal, like one of his kids, his wife or a parent.

I think I heard somewhere Turgeon was working as a semi-consultant for coaches and programs. I could possibly see him being used as a voice/advisor/perspective. Coach? Nop. Can’t see it. I’d take Thad everyday and twice on Tuesday before Turgeon.

My opinion?  No I don’t see any chance he is coaching at IU next year.  I also thought that last cycle as well

I appreciate ya. While I don’t want Turgeon for example, if we missed out on May, Stevens, Otz etc and we proactively eliminate Beard, Pearl etc, people need to be open.

i have little faith in Dolson but would applaud a great hire if he can do it.

Just a question for you all:

Is the significant negativity for Mark T mostly about his personality or results in the court, or some of both? If it’s the latter, it’s worth pointing out in his last 7 seasons at Maryland, his very worst team was the 2017-2018 squad, a team that went 19-13, finished 39 in KenPom, and probably should’ve been in the tournament. That was the *worst* team. In his four years at Texas A&M, he was dancing every season.

So if you consider that and then add in that IU offers better NIL and other resources, is it really that crazy for  Dolson to think he’d be successful at IU?

again, just worth keeping an open mind. It’s a lot harder to hire away coaches who are having success than fans think.

Stop trying to make Mark Turgeon happen, it's not going to happen.

Tomorrow is Friday and we are like 0/2 on good news on Fridays.. What are we getting tomorrow? 3rd time is a charm correct?

IU hires Happy Gilmore as the new basketball coach citing an out of the box approach.

If Turgeon turns out to be the guy? We will not have missed on numerous other candidates. We will have missed on hundreds of other candidates!

A question for the board; do we think Turgeon or Juwan Howard is ranked higher on Dolson’s list? And do we think that Pat Chambers has a real shot? Maybe Dr. Tom Davis? Eddie Jordan?

I’ve planted my flag on the Marty Simmons hill.

It’s starting to feel like this could very well mirror the searches of UofL and UK. Which, if you think about it, is probably the most logical outcome. I still would love to think that the IU job is appealing to a big name, but I’m starting to have my doubts. I’m sure those two schools thought the same with their considerable resources. If so, I guess whatever. As USPS has said, as long as he’s a grinder. Tired of IU basketball being associated with laziness and the definition of insanity. Give me a coach who is hungry.

And yes, I’m still bitter about the Dusty thing, in case anyone is wondering. Hope it doesn’t haunt IU.

I hope IU gets as lucky as L'Ville, then...

Look Mrs. Turgeon, I'm sure your son is a lovely young man and is the best of boys but I unfortunately think we are going to pass.

The rest of you need to be nice to your elders.
