LMAO. If you’re friend hasn’t heard Brad say he wants to coach at IU and his biggest regret was not taking the job in 2021 then he’s not that close.

This isn't a flashy or sexy hire and maybe that is exactly what this program needs to ground itself again.  We have complained about the style over substance and winning the offseason for the past decade so maybe getting more of a lunch pail guy and building up a bit is the way to go.  If he wins, the people complaining now will be back on the bandwagon in short order.

I am down to give the dude a chance.  Bring his kid with him (with some other players) and mix them in with some current players and I think we could have a decent team in year one.  We had dudes on this team who were pretty well thought of coming in, be interested to see them coached by a staff that is 100% committed to everything that is required of a college basketball coach.  Let's see what he can do before we start dumping on him.

 No offense buddy, but I think some boosters/AD use board insiders to spread half truths. I think it’s true we took a run at Stevens. But the game of telephone happens and next thing we know he signed and it’s a done deal.

I want to say this, don’t bash the resident insiders if they are wrong. They are sharing what they hear, but it’s up to the posters to believe it or not.
 

Whoever it is, let’s not focus on fighting amongst ourselves, let’s talk about a new era in IU hoops and how good/bad it could be. We have had to endure 8 years of bad basketball. Not getting political, but it’s like wishing a president would fail because you don’t like them. Worst thing you could do because that means America fails. 
 

Be critical, be frustrated, but also understand it could be successful as well. Let’s enjoy the ride, have good - civil conversation, and hope this all works out great for IU!

If you guys really think this is the result of Dolson “scrambling” because he’s just a good coach and not your favorite coach, idk what to say. People have unrealistic expectations. You can’t read anything into how quickly this all came together IMO… seems obvious to me DeVries and McCollum were the two we were into deep discussions with. DeVries missed the tournament, did his due diligence, and the dominos fell accordingly. 

Think we made a really good hire. Excited to watch competent - great - basketball again. And have a real winning culture.
