I agree it shows we need to hand in our blue blood card. Football better be good or the Big Ten will want to kick us out. Better get him a lot of help

Goodman mentioned this yesterday. Said if we were to hire McCollum we would need to surround him with excellent assistants “if he were to make it at Indiana.”

yikes

Goodness.  McCollum goes from competing in a Guppy Bowl to the Shark Tank in 1 season.  He will be eaten alive.  We’ve got a Archie Miller part 2 upcoming.  Has no idea what it takes at that level to win and recruit.  F me.

Why would you say that. Just because Archie couldn't handle it doesn't mean McCollum can't. It would s all about personality and a belief in yourself and it seems like McCollum has that

FWIW, Rabby is saying he (and the people that talk to him) thinks it'll be one of McCollum, Brownell, or McDermott. He says the McCollum noise has been getting louder recently and he hasn't heard much about McDermott the past couple of days.

The tweet said "one of" the candidates. Get a grip.

You get a grip.  It’s a crazy hire at Indiana.  I’ve been ready for a different brand of ball for 8 years but this is a bold move.  Let’s see if he can out-Purdue who is a genius basketball mind plus experience.  That’s gonna be the goal but he is way behind the 8 ball.  If he gets star talent he won’t be adept of the hangers-on and agents etc.  And if he doesn’t, winning is hard. Just a risky as hell hire.

I can’t help that my first reaction is meh which I feel will be common amongst our fans.

At least it’s not Brownell which would’ve been straight disappointment. But something like Lloyd/McDermott/Drew would’ve ingested a fun energy this program needs.

Nonetheless gonna root hard for him and at least can see the vision that it could work out really well for us.

I love it. Dolson gets fans to lower expectations for McCollum then hits them with the hammer. Such a big time move.

Remember last time Goodman said Holtman was almost a done deal.

I would absolutely be thrilled if it was that at this point.  That’s where my hope is centered for the remainder of this search.

Ben wins, just google him.

Problem is, does his style of play translate to high major basketball? We just rid of an old man that played slowed and shot a low number of 3’s per game.

He better increase that pace because no one wants to see pace of play like old man Bennett

Honestly less excited than I was for the Woodson hire and that’s saying a lot because I hated that hire too. Slow paced boring offense and zero clue the athleticism that will be needed to win at this level.  He’s in for the rudest of awakenings.  Most coaches don’t need rebuilding phases in the portal era but McCollum is gonna need a few learn the ropes seasons.  Indiana isn’t the place to do that.  F Me again.
Slow down wayne. Thankfully this hasn't happened yet.

Can we stop saying this? Feel like it’s been said over 100 times here. He hired the greatest football coach in IUFB history. Let’s relax on “legacy”

We will find out about us being a football school this year. Dolson’s career will indeed be on the line here.

you can coach, then you can coach. And as for recruiting, the pool of players one can recruit in D2 are not for most part D1 level players, they’re not going to go d2. so if his players were good enough to win like he has then he must recruit pretty well from the available pool. So why do we think all of sudden he won’t be able to recruit from the available D1 pool of talent? Not advocating, have no horse in this race but I could get behind him. He just wins.

McDermott is who I am holding out hope for.  But if it’s not him, I would happily take McCollum over Brownell.

By all accounts he seems like a brilliant coach that can adjust his play to his roster.

I believe it was mentioned at some point that his D2 teams played a faster pace.
