Sam Story dropped into Trilly discord this AM and said he thinks Stevens is over. Dolson met with him on Feb 14th and it didn’t go anywhere. Timing with his daughter is bad.

Drew and May (since his buyout isn’t impossible)still at top of his list before they move on.

May is off the list, period. Move on

He said “asking for more TIME”. If Stevens is it, great, if not, let Dolson move on and prepare his next steps. Handcuffing everyone isn’t what someone does if they love this program

Above all, it is a job.  Why begrudge anyone for making as much money as an employer Is willing to pay?

You also don't know the details of him 'asking for more TIME'.

This is not about Chris Beard.  Search Mary Kate on Twitter to find out what it's about.

Assuming you are referring to his tweet about "reports from ole miss"

EDIT: Maybe NSFW information (no images or videos, but a wild situation nonetheless)

thank you!

Absolutely, Dolson cannot get left at the altar again. Brad either needs to be in or out. If he has signed and they don’t wanna announce until after the season, all good, if he is waffling and can’t make up his mind, at a certain point you gotta move on. If I put my Stevens-colored glasses on, that seems possible that a deal has been reached but won’t be made public until end of season. If I put my reasonable hat on, I’d guess he’s already said no and Dolson is working the post-Dusty and Brad list.

If (big IF) Brad Stevens is considering the IU offer and there are offers and then Stevens' camp comes back with counters and IU meets those and then Stevens comes back with more or says that he needs more time or tells Scott that he'll consider and let him know his decision once the job is actually open...basically, if Brad Stevens is anything less than "all in" on being the head coach for IU basketball and all that the job entails, I would turn to Scott Drew or Mick Cronin or whoever else is next on Scott Dolson's list that really wants the job. That is not to suggest that's what is occurring or will occur but Brad Stevens needs to be completely ready to do what it takes to win at the highest level, particularly given the investment level IU will be laying out to get him. It cannot be a case of "it would be nice to be the head coach at IU and if you put all of these things in place that make it easier for me to do, I guess I'll do you a favor and take it". Does that make sense? I don't know if it does but in my head, after Mike Woodson's serious lack of effort, I want a coach that will refuse to be outworked.

I don’t know if SS is correct or not but I’ve always wondered about his daughter and how awful the timing would be for her. I believe she is a junior in high school, that’s a rough time to pack up and move across the country. Likely worse timing than it was 4 years ago

Nonsense.  She’d be the most popular student at BSouth day one.  And she could stay in Bloomington and not have to move again in 2 years.  If Brad really wanted the job that wouldn’t be a blip on the radar I assure you.

I’m still sticking with my theory that when  Dolson said he has his man , automatically everyone thinks it’s Stevens. Dusty ends up saying no, and we are back to hiring a search committee like previous years. Could be totally wrong, but never bought into Stevens .

If he wants the job, this is a non-issue. If he wants to use something as an excuse to not take the job, this is one of many routes he could take with trying to justify a denial. Kids adapt..I've moved many times in my life as both a kid and a parent. Parent decisions don't need approval from the kids...

Sure, why begrudge them for trying to maximize their earnings. It’s also reasonable to think Dolson needs to know when to tell Stevens to **** or get off the pot.

Thank you. I was about to type that. Your dad is going to be the coach of IUBB you’ll make friends. As I tell my 18 year old all the time don’t make it about you.

…..that’s the vibe SS’s comments on Trilly’s made it seem to me. It’s like look, I’m getting this opportunity and your opinion matters, but it’s time to move back to Indiana.

Yeah, it’s the tried and true “let me check with the wife” when someone asks you to do something you don’t really want to do. If Brad wants the job then he’ll take it, but it doesn’t really sound like he does.

I’m familiar but if it was a contract negotiation ploy to lean on the Celtics, you wouldn’t care about NIL assurances

If she's a JR, she doesn't have to move.  Mom and her can stay home, while dad comes and works.  Flies back on the weekends, etc.  It's a very short period of time and will go quick because Brad has a whole lot of work to do cleaning up the current mess.  Probably won't see much of dad that first year or two anyway.  :)

Yes......the regular season isn't over for a couple more weeks.  This is the infancy in terms of a coaching search.
