I can give this personality a shot. Youngest active coach to 500 wins. Indiana needs to win again.

I'm not the world's biggest fan of Cronin, but i could see Dolson really liking him given the basketball environment he was part of at IU.  I could also see Cronin bringing Fife back as an assistant.  I think the two of them would get along very well.

I probably wasn't being fair to Collins, more that if we got to Collins, we would legit be in the Brad Brownell is an actual possibility tier lol.

For sure. I think IU fans should prepare themselves for a scenario where we’re not bringing in a National Champ type coach—Wright thru Drew and Stevens group—and very likely aren’t bringing in a promising young coach from a P5 conference—the McCasland/May types.

From there we’re definitely in the territory of trying to entice an older coach who has been successful or start looking at the midmajor or Brownell/Collins categories.

I honestly don’t think it takes much imagination to find ourselves in that last group. It’s the route UK, UM and UL went last year.

I put McDermott and Collins in their own tier , I wouldn’t be thrilled and talking smack to my Purdue buddies BUT I’d be intrigued to see how it plays out .

obviously both would be massive coaching upgrades to our previous 2 head coach’s BUT they clearly fall short of a Stevens , Dusty , Drew grand slam of a hire . But I could see it going well . Collins in particular I think would recruit the state well . He’s already nabbed more than a few under the radar recruits from the state (the kid from Greensburg can’t remember his name , Barnhizer , KJ Windham ) .

if you won’t touch Beard and Cronin says no . If you get passed those 2 as well . Then anyone else who’s been brought up (Brownell, McCollum and so on ) then I’m not sure if Dolson is a religious man BUT you might wanna start praying sir !

Yep and that’s not happening. The only agent talking behind the scenes is Beards is what Trilly said.

It's also possible that Dolson has identified his guy, and that guy's agent is wisely zipping his lips until the season is over.

If it's not Brad, I'm really hoping that guy is Otz.

Oh I know there isn't but it at least quiets some of the lies spewed on here.

Lies spewed?  Come on.  Message board comments are almost always speculative. What we think or what this “expert” said.  Even people saying it will be this guy aren’t lying if wrong.  It should go without saying that every post is someone’s opinion.

One of my all time favorites.

President Carter: “What is the solution (to inflation)?”

”You want the solution to inflation? Hi friends, Marshall Lucky for New Deal Used Cars, where we’re fighting inflation not just lowering high prices, not only by murdering high prices, but by blowing the living $&!t out of high prices. Yessir, you heard me right!”

Classic

I don't think I can post my favorite line from that movie. It was said by a kid to his dad watching a commercial.  If you know, you know!

I have zero insider info. I’m as far away from an insider as you can get. But I think there is almost zero chance that Scott Dolson is going to hire Brownell. Why would he do that? There is no one who thinks he would be the best coach for IU. Not even Brownell would likely think that.

Same here; zero insider information but what gets me is the rumor was Woodson retirement was announced early to curb any fan toxicity at the next home games, yet  IU is considering a coach in Cronin that has shown to be antagonist towards the fanbase (as seen a few days ago).  That sort of reasoning seems counterproductive.

brownell, beard, few… Is Trilly qualified to say that with 100% certainty?

I will add this as well, even if Dolson thinks Stevens or someone else is 100%, with over a month to go, he would be an idiot not to be talking to agents etc of multiple candidates. Fool Dolson once, hopefully not twice

He’s definitely talking to agents of multiple candidates

Maybe a good chance people re-think their Peegs subscription fees after this coaching search is over, lol.

I think you get free 24/7 premium if you have a Paramount+ account. I have never bothered to try, but I think that probably drives a lot of subs.

How long does it take to say, “we aren’t interested?” If the conversation goes beyond that, maybe Dolson is open to his consideration?

All Rabby said was there’s soft chatter about those two names. That could literally mean anything lol

Are Rabby's connections with Woodson and the coaching staff or Dolson?  I believe Rabjohns was the one that floated the rumors on Dane's firing.
