Guys, all I can say is that I know some of the highest people…and I haven’t heard a peep. Im guessing it will stay this way until a story breaks when we actually have an agreement in place (with whoever the new coach will be). I just can’t imagine people connected enough to know contract numbers are throwing them around. I could be wrong. Just my opinion.

I have no idea if or who you know/talk to or if you're just bs'ing as well but this is very honest and realistic inside information. I am way more inclined to believe that only a handful of people, if even that many, actually have any clue what Dolson has going on right now.

I think Buzz has moved into my list. Haven’t watched much A&M but they play very hard. Also, we haven’t really talked about Tommy Lloyd or is it just understood he’s a west coast guy and wouldn’t leave Zona? Arguably pretty lateral, but if we are throwing around huge offers for established coaches seems like we could make a run at him.

This post by KS about an alleged comment by Coach Cignetti leaves me wondering to what it refers.  Any insight would be appreciated?  What does it mean?  Is it about Goodman not knowing what is going on with Brad Stevens?  Thanks.

Cig directly responded to Adam Zagoria who said Cig was pushing for Byington internally. Cig calling it out as false.

With all the Stevens and, for some reason, Cronin talk I probably missed this....but why are we putting Pearl in the same category as Beard with regard to IU not even considering him? Is it because of recruiting issues he had at previous stops?

Talking about Cig being in Dolson’s ear about Byington for next year

He's responding to Zagoria who said Cignetti was pushing Dolson Byington.

Age I would guess and just that ship generally having sailed. I’d be thrilled with him, but best case we’d be doing this all over again in 8 or so years. Also a ton of rumors about a head coach in waiting for his son which I’m guessing would be a nonstarter for IU.

Older, and he's got Auburn rolling right now.  Will probably have a building named after him at Auburn if he can keep this up.  I just don't see him leaving Auburn. I think he retires there and makes his son take over the reigns.

Thank you for the info!

Every coach is a roll of the dice. Those two are far less of a roll of the dice than almost any. Golden’s only risk are his personal issues and potential for future personal issues similar to Beard, but without the alcohol issues.

I’m saying we can’t really get a decent idea of likely tournament success because neither has much to measure there. Every coach had their own risks sure, but part of winning history is tournament experience and success

By the way, in my opinion the ONLY way Oats or Golden would show interest in IU is to leverage it toward a raise/extension.

Because they ain’t leaving their current gigs.

Gonna be hard to pull top coaches from the SEC right now

Precisely. Let's move on from talking about Oats unless you want to help him get a raise at Bama.

This has become very simple with Brad being out of the race. If you want to win now, it's either Beard or May. If you want to maybe win, then there's every other realistic candidate. REALISTIC candidate

If there isn’t news of a restructured Dusty deal in the next couple weeks I am going to go ahead and assume that’s a done deal. I know some have alluded to it not mattering even if there’s a new deal, but that’s just not something I would believe. If Dusty signs a new contract, he’d be off the board IMO.
