Chris, I don’t mean this as disrespect, but I find this hard to believe.

For one, that we would offer this much. For 2, that the squabble is over 8 million over 10 years. If he wanted the job, he’d take it at 9.2, 10 doesn’t do anything extra for him.

I’m not even saying I don’t think he could still be an option, because I could see why they want to lower the temp for a couple weeks.

Anyway, happy Valentines day Hoosiers on a brutal day of fandom.

Our admin got us into this mess and our boosters tried their best to get us out of it.

I’m expecting we pay someone around 6 a year. Possibly Dusty. Maybe someone else. Go from there.

You seem like a good guy man, but that absolutely doesn’t make sense.

why would you go back and forth in a contact negotiation, come to an agreement, receive the contract, then say, “well thanks guys, I’ll sign this thing in 4 days”

So there are a few options here.

3. We didn't meet his demands.

4. He put out a vague "I like my job" message because he didn't want to distract from All Star Weekend and he is still planning on signing after.

5. Brad Stevens is trolling Scott Dolson.

 

In order of possibility I would rank them 2, 5, 4, 3, 1.  

It just doesn't make sense to give a 2 week deadline, then just 2 days later, say he will sign when we meet his counter offer, we then meet his counter offer, and then he immediately shuts it down when he gets the offer in hand. 

For the record, I don't blame Chris for any of this; for I certainly believe he was reporting what he was hearing.  

Note: It's day 4 for of Brad-Watch and I may just be losing my mind.

Skepticism is definitely warranted but it’s not like Chris would make this up for fun lol. I’m not saying I believe Stevens is still an option but it’s silly to think Chris would make all of his information up.

All of the “insiders” this morning said it was a “done deal.”  Everyone lost their freaking minds. 2-3 hours later word comes out that BS isn’t a candidate. Crickets.  Then excuses after they can think of a cover story.  Lather. Rinse. Repeat. 
 

Why would anyone close to the hiring process be blabbing numbers?  Why haven’t those numbers been discussed by the media? 
 

I made a comment that we would hear from BS no later than next Tuesday 2/18 as if I actually knew something. Everyone lost their minds for a moment. It was too easy to get everyone fired up. I’ve been lurking on this site for 4-5 years and I’ve seen the same stuff repeated just like this over and over again. It’s crazy how many keep buying into it.
