Yes, his NBA-Ready son got injured in game #8 and was their leading scorer!  He got WVA to 19 wins in the Big 12 without his leading scorer.  At Drake he won over 21 games every hear in those 6 years.!!

Got a chance to watch the video interivew with Dakich and McCullom interview.  Good stuff.  Dakich said at one point that McCullom reminded him of Brad Stevens.

TJD's game improved in his time when Woodson was there.  Just because a guy is a poor coach doesn't mean he didn't make a connection with a particular player.

Portal opens 24th - just need to get it done before then - but I bet it's Wednesday if its not an active coach who is coaching - give a day (today)  for cleaning house (moving out current staff where necessary) - next day give new coach a chance to get his bearings then do the real stuff like announcement the next day.  

Plus I like hitting the news cycle on Wednesday or Thursday - lots of people watching NCAAs so you're fresh news. My 2 cents.

No one will ever convince me Woody didn’t think he could do well here and be a good coach. I’ll go ahead and assume his intentions were pure. Unfortunately, reality is a cruel mistress.

Exactly why we saw the name Brownell on this board and honestly McCollum. Darian’s name is now Brownell name after missing the tourney. Agents pushing their guy, no one knows besides Dobson. Was Darian on Dolson’s list a month ago when he fired Woodson? Likely not until the bottom 5-10.

I definitely wouldn’t be in destitute over a devries hire, but if we’re taking an Iowa guy I think I’d rather have BM. 

The thing that sticks out with McCollum over all the other guys in his “tier” is that he didn’t just build a good winning program, he built something that was absolutely dominant. I don’t think you can completely discount that just being due to the level of competition. I think we all want to be back to that level and id rather take someone who already knows how to build a dominant program over someone who is still figuring out how to build a great one.
