It's probably exactly the risk they need to take. Hiring many of the coaches I've seen named is nothing but risk avoidance rather than reaching for the banner. A lot of names that would give you pretty decent records but after 400+ wins over 20 years, no banners. If IU chooses McCollum, the rest of the coaches in the B1G are going to be facing better coaching than they ever have.

They are meeting the night before the announcement to lock down the details? That’s not how this works….

Ok I like the short timeline proposed here so I’ll believe it. If the clock strikes midnight tomorrow and Stevens not announced you become the newest member to the Chief Clown club. If it’s true you’re POY and if you tell me the sky is green I’ll believe you
