incrediboy Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Who the heck were those guys wearing our shirts and playing defense? Looked like an early Bob Knight-era game when fans brought signs like Happiness is a Shutout! IUBBFan1970, WayneFleekHoosier and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
Popular Post Brass Cannon Posted January 15, 2018 Author Popular Post Posted January 15, 2018 Perfect game for recruits watching. Archie showed he knows what hes doing but could use some help. Man if Smith can put it all together hes gonna be really good for us. coonhounds, Iugradman, MemphisHoosier and 8 others 11 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 That was a lot of fun. Defense, defense, defense! Justin Smith and Clif Moore showing good signs. We arent great this season but the guys were having fun together today. Looked like a team that likes one another. Alford Bailey Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Great win. We should be developing some confidence now with the win streak. Seems as though weve adjusted to no DD. Iugradman 1 Quote
rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Still pumped hours after the game ended! Defense is back at IU! Defense will keep us in most games and help us in the tourney. Popular Post VO5 Posted January 15, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 15, 2018 Was at the game behind the basket. First one of the Archie era! Was great to get a win. I watched the coaching staff a lot tonight and they absolutely have control of this team. Constantly talking with players and helping with positioning, mistakes, etc. Coach really got into McSwain when he gave up a dunk and kept talking with him throughout the next huddle. It’s refreshing to see teaching and discipline with this staff. Class of '66 Old Fart, WayneFleekHoosier, thebigweave and 12 others 15 Quote
Magnanimous Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Fantastic defensive effort tonight. We're going into a tougher stretch of the schedule, but hopefully tonight will give them some confidence going into the meat of the conference slate. Tied for 3rd in the conference right now, so congrats to Coach Miller as well. thebigweave, IUBBFan1970, ccgeneral and 3 others 6 Quote
Aaron Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 After some inexplicable struggles at home against Northwestern for most of the Crean era that is 3 straight at the Hall against them with 2 blowouts. Things may be getting back to normal. Also crowd was far more into game today and louder than against PSU. As I said crowd is always dead against PSU but much louder against most other teams (except maybe Nebraska and Rutgers but not enough data available yet). This is big as the next 3 games now that we are playing better have a chance to be a classic elite Assembly Hall atmosphere and a legit sellout with most of balcony full. Maryland, MSU and PU generally are best atmospheres for Big Ten games and we are going to need it. Lastly this is not game related and I am sure Ken Pom has his metrics and I generally like him but we have only moved up to 89th and still 2 spots behind an Iowa team we clobbered. Makes no sense. Uspshoosier Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Always good to have a blowout win when you are in the Hall to watch the Hoosiers play. Popular Post IUrocker Posted January 15, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 15, 2018 The only games I've been able to actually sit down and watch on TV this year due to not having to work are Indiana State, IPFW (was in Assembly for that one), Louisville, Wisconsin, Seton Hall, and Michigan (all losses).....I'm never watching a game again and plan on working every day of the week, lol. thebigweave, Hoosier DaDa, Iugradman and 6 others 9 Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Watched the game at a friend's house and we were cheering for defensive stops in the final minutes because we wanted to see if we could hold them under 40. I have to say it was a refreshing change from the layup lines we saw the past nine years. incrediboy and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 It wasn't pretty basketball in the first half but it was good to see the team control the game with Morgan and McBob on the bench. Hopefully, that provides a little confidence to the staff and players that we can at least compete while Morgan is resting. I'd really like to fast forward to when Green gets "it." He can make both the electrifying play and simply idiotic play. We need a steady Green that looks for the smart pass or good shot. IF he can figure this out I think he becomes a consistent contributor. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Iugradman 1 Quote
