I'm with you. All these years following recruiting and he was a nobody to me. Suddenly he's now like the soon to be blossoming dandelions in my yard popping up everywhere. And at least for the time being I'm willing to overlook the fact he's friends with Tyme.

Just saw Mullins’ game winner again and it occurred to me that the real unsung hero of Duke going home is Steph Curry. Kid throws up a 35 footer and for him it’s a just a regular old jump shot. 15 years ago it would have been at least a bit of throw. But this generation that’s grown up on Curry and Lillard and how they changed the game have just developed different stuff. I like defending the old game as much as the next guy but the skill level on the perimeter now is just a different deal entirely.

So I guess Bizjack wasn’t the player the dude was referring to. Got to say this, for a guy I’d never heard of before maybe 10 days ago, he has provided a bit of fun fodder to speculate on, even if it all turns out to be bull$hit.

Ha, true. Austin was around some good players as a manager at Westfield as well - Braden Smith, Cam Haffner, Trey Buchanan (Chad’s kid). My guess is Ryan has been friends with Ritchie McKay or developed a relationship with the staff once Austin became a manager there and is pretty in tune with the program. Will be curious if Austin transfers to IU to follow his Dad’s footsteps.

He's sort of a combo guard. Definitely a score-first guy. Have watched him play a few times, and I thought he was smaller than 6'4". He's probably a better shooter than the percentages show - he took a lot of tough shots.

We need 6-7 guys. It’s not realistic to think IU is going to sign 5-6 of the top 50 players in the portal. Fru is absolutely the kind of big last years team missed.

Have watched 90% of the games in his career. An absolute defensive menace. Great on ball defender. Not good, great. But he has no PG instincts to speak of. Just doesn’t make good reads. Can probably help a good team as a 3rd guard, but if he’s your primary you’re gonna struggle on offense.

I’m good either way with any of them winning as long as it’s a close game. If you are one the takes pride in the B1G then you would want them to win since it’s been 25+ years and the national media would love for that trend to continue (Adam Zagoria being the worse). You would think that the B1G has been trash in the tourney if you listen to them but numbers tell you they have been right there just haven’t won the Big one. For @Hovadiposake I hope Illinois doesn’t win though

Probably actually good for IU and everyone else to have a B1G win it. Before NIL the perception in both football and basketball was we couldn’t compete at the top athletically. We’ve been killing it in football the last few years. Adding a basketball title would be great for the conference. As we move into whatever this next phase of NIL college athletics is, it’d be cool if it wasn’t the B1G and SEC dominating but maybe just the B1G and everyone else.

I'd prefer to see the Big ten return to 10 teams so we can do a true round robin in the regular season for basketball. In your scenario, I would keep Penn State and show Northwestern the door.
