  4. There's a lot of people rooting for the Hoosiers, and a lot of hate for Miami around these parts (Phoenix metro), at least anecdotally. While wearing my IU gear, people are always commenting about how much they like "that coach" and "that QB"... That does this fan's heart good. #NeverDaunted

  5. The “is IU capable of handling a team way bigger than them in the trenches?” narrative circle has come back to the 12:00 hour this morning. Seeing it in multiple places. It still feels like there are large sections of national media that haven’t watched this team play.

  9. Spent a short time reading some comments on the Miami U forum. Seeing all of the typical comments Hoosier fans have been reading from the arrogant "blue blood" programs: OSU, Alabama, and now Miami. I've copied a few of my favorites and you will notice they resemble what IU fans have heard all season long. (My favorite is the last one; "Mendoza is a one-read guy; rarely has to go through his progressions", hahaha, no clue.) Here's believing the results of the game match those of all the other arrogant posters who thought their team was going to be "the one" unlike any IU has played before. Indiana only plays 13 players on defense. Wear them out. We play a similar style game to Indiana but we just have better athletes. They're bullying Oregon on both LOS, they won't be able to do that to us. They have not played trenches like ours. I was really nervous for our last three games but im not nervous at all about Indiana. I think we handle them easily The Ole Miss O is superior to Indiana's. Mendoza rarely has to go through progressions, it's not even a thing in the IU system. He's a one read guy.

  13. I will wait to see. I'm not falling into the trap of necessarily thinking that higher touted players equals higher level play. We will be very, very good, but even better than this year is a near impossible standard.

    2025 IUFB Season

No one will ever be able to take the joy out of following the constantly evolving narratives over the course of the 2025 season. They haven't beaten anyone! The Big Ten is weak! It's a down year in college football! They're just running up the score in garbage time! They're so old they shouldn't even be playing against college kids! They're cheating! No, they would get destroyed by the 2019 LSU team! People just simply cannot comprehend IU is a great college football team.

  15. If we can be effective against the run and turn this into a Carson Beck vs. Bryant Haines showdown, it is going to be cinema.

  16. Portal closes Friday, but IU and Miami players will have a few days after the game to enter. Unfortunately, the problem for the players is that decisions are already being made. So if you stick with your team until the end (like we have been taught -- see things thru, be a good teammate, etc.), you likely lose opportunities. Shame on the adults who are running this chit.

  23. I'd love to add Harris and he has good size for a corner, but On3 has definitely missed before so I'll wait to see if he commits. Oregon was supposed to be the leader at one point too, granted that was before we went Old Yeller on them.

    2025 IUFB Season

It's a great question, and I think the interweb has the scoop for you from, believe it or not, the University of Texas 247 message board. This poster took the DOBs from the IU players who have their actual DOB listed on 247, including our 28 year old punter, and came up with an average age of 20.58 years old. But the majority of players without a listed DOB on 247 are freshman and sophomores -- younger than the players with empirical data. So the extrapolated average age of the current IU roster is approximately 20 years old: _______________________________________________________________ John Haynsworth Posted on Jan 9th, 7:32 PM, , User Since 241 months ago, User Post Count: 3363 Jan 9th, 7:32 PM 241 months 3363 went ahead and did the math on this because i'm a f*in loser: first of all, presumably for privacy reasons, the IU athletics site doesn't list birth dates. so coming up with their ages for that number floating around would have needed to rely on less than reliable data, presumably. i went with the IU 247 site, since they're one of the few that lists ages. not perfect, but good enough for sample sizing: https://247sports.com/college/indiana/Team/Indiana-Hoosiers-Football-67/Roster/ that site lists 101 players (the IU athletics site lists 101 players as well). in order to get to an average of 23 years, we'll need to get to a total of 2,323 years. of the 101 players on the roster, 247 provided ages for 34: 700 total years on the dot, for an average of 20.58 years. this includes a 28-year-old punter. so the remaining 67 players who do not have ages need to get to a total of 1,623 years - an average of 24.22 years. except of those 67 remaining players, 35 of them are listed as freshmen or sophomores. for the sake of argument, let's say these 35 freshmen and sophomores are 21 years old each. the average age of the remaining 32 players would still need to be 27.75 years old to get to a team average of 23 years old. i'm going to simply refuse to believe that IU has 32 players who are AT LEAST an average age of 27 years old. it's entirely possible that the 247 IU site has bad data. so i can't rule out 23 years old being accurate. but if 247 is accurate, then the probability that the IU roster averages 23 years is extremely low if the above checks out.

  27. It appears someone related to Boyd commented under this as a poster said who leaves the team before a natty that is so dumb. She commented 'know the facts before you make a statement like this'. Her last name is Boyd and she has reposted other things related to Jah. Could be mother idk. We have no idea what is going on behind the scenes so really whatever our opinions are the best thing to do publicly on socials is to wish the guys well.

  28. I ran across this guy yesterday morning, and it was the first I heard of it. The idiots who came up with the rumors are butt hurt that the power is shifting in the last few years, and don't want to acknowledge that Cig is a film junkie. The guy basically debunks all the rumors.

  29. Is Indiana now a football school or a basketball school...? Steve Alford was recently quoted in response. "...that’s an undefeated 16-0, which has never happened in football. And the last undefeated basketball team was the ’76 Hoosiers. So one school, my school, could hold both of those things in basketball and football. Good luck Hoosiers on Monday."

  31. You are wearing my @$$ out. I simply do not understand your constant belittlement of a freshman IU woman basketball player. Am I the only IU women's basketball FAN on this forum? Seems to me that almost everybody else needs to make themselves feel important by pointing out the weaknesses of a group of college women doing their best to win games. We just lost to the number 11 team in the USA by 3 points with 2 freshmen and 2 sophomore starters.

  32. Long would have been excellent at the Mike. We may still try to bring in someone, but doesn't appear to be incredibly high priority. I read this as Isaiah Jones filling the Mike role with Hardy playing the Will. If we bring in any LB, this could obviously be shifted around. We could use a little extra LB depth. If not, I could see us running more base nickel as our secondary depth is getting stacked in the portal. As far as Center, availability in the portal for the position is low. If Leibfried is ready, he can step into the role. If not, we appear to be solid with Guard Joe Brunner from Wisconsin. Bray Lynch slides to Center, and Evans and Brunner start at Guard.

  34. For those interested, I’m happy to forward you the GoFundMe link to help me purchase two club level seats for the Miami game. You can read the gut wrenching story of an IU grad that endured decades of poor football and year after year of hopelessness and utter disappointment. You CAN make a difference..

  35. Barely posted the past few days because I was in Atlanta. Truly a bucket list experience. When Ponds picky-sixdied it felt like twenty jet planes were revving in 10X10 room. The crowd was insanely pro and all IU. If you take away the Oregon band members? 90-95% IU without a doubt. With an announced attendance of over 75,000, maybe the single largest IU crowd ever; home, road, or neutral. The Oregon people I met were super nice but they kinda didn’t have much of a choice. The IU fans were exceptionally nice to them even when they could have engaged. This semi-old IU fan stayed up past 2:00 am two nights in a row, drove 19 hours over 2.5 days, my voice is still trashed, my eyes ache, and it was one of the best entertainment and IU times of my life. With my 19 year old son and four of my absolutely best college buddies by my side. Never daunted. And sublime.

  42. I saw an awesome IU cheating video yesterday about their 4 1st drive interceptions this year. He clipped them and the 3 other than Ponds were: 1) a tipped ball at the line of scrimmage, 2) a throw that would have hit Fisher in the mask if he hadn’t caught it, and 3) a sideline pick as the QB was scrambling against PU. Seriously. We’ve arrived!
