  2. Hey y'all. Ain't been on much for a bit now. Hope everyone is doing great. Got some great news and cleared by my doctor as cancer free and hoping it stays that way. Definitely can't wait for the season to start. Optimistic on a new start and style from this years group(and football looks like it'll keep me in a good mood anyways). But here is my preseason Top 25 as I usually do and I'll post it here weekly! College Basketball Preseason Top 25 1. Purdue Boilermakers 2. Houston Cougars 3. Kentucky Wildcats 4. 2025 IUFB Season

Yea, it's got to be coming. Some guesses for fun: - Cig is at $9M/yr. Pump that up to $12.5-13.5M so he's going from just outside the top-10 to #1 or #2. Allocate another $2-3M to the staff pool so we can do all we can to keep key guys ( notably Haines and Kuntz) or hire their replacements if they take promotions. I am sure there are others who are very important. - Pump up the football NIL budget by $7-8M+, even if that means selling parts of campus. We've got a whole new universe of higher level talent interested in IU now that they have seen use make the playoff and do things like win at Oregon. But, these players are more expensive and we've got to pay their market rates. It will be hard to get intel on what's happening with NIL, but something like this is important behind the scenes. - Announce something with the stadium renovation. Exactly what I don't care, but it's time for suites and a new press box, a new PA/sound system, stuff like that. We've got that private equity money coming to help. Scott has been all over this. He identified Cig, convinced him to come here, exceed his first season NIL commitment (and probably second season), didn't wait on new staff contracts/raises last year and got them done mid-season, and did additional raises for Haines and Owings to help keep them here. That's a good track record and I expect Scott, Pam, and others are going to keep doing what they have been doing.

  6. Scott Dolson was on the Big Red Carpet tonight. He mentions being very busy since the Oregon game as an athletic department as they cannot get complacent and need to make sure everything keeps rolling. It sure sounded like he was implying that they were going to ensure that Curt Cignetti wouldn't be going anywhere. Wouldn't be surprised to see some sort raise and another extension for Cig announced in the next couple weeks.

  7. After some of our goal line “struggles” against ODU and short yardage issues at Iowa, punching in the two Hemby TD’s at Oregon of all places was extremely satisfying.

    2025 IUFB Season

Yep. I think it's going to be a positive that football is setting a high standard that basketball will be measured against. For once in IUBB's history they're not the biggest show in town and they will need to earn fan interest, attention, and resources much more than in past years. That means no excuses, winning, and getting better during the season and year over year.

Another thing has changed in Bloomington. Unlike in most (almost all) past years during this time of year in October hardly anyone is so excited, anxious or so looking forward to basketball season. Basketball season can wait.

    2025 IUFB Season

Football first fan here. In the past it meant many white russians to help with the sorrow. It means, in 1987, Bill Mallory took shotgun while Bobby Knight was in the backseat. It means, the small victories, like watching Tevin Colman carry the rock and average 7.1 yards a carry throughout his 3 year career in the 812, are glorious to be a part of. It means, watching an IUFB game over an IUBB should both be playing at the same time. It means, while visiting btownbanners, spending most of if not all of my time in this section. It means, I can't tell you who's on the current IUBB roster and coaching staff but can probably tell you about 90% to 99% of players and coaches backgrounds on the IUFB roster. That's what 'focused on football' means for me anyway.

  25. I hate these types of conversations. Different players at different times. AT was an awesome player. I loved watching him and believe he should have won the best player that year. Fisher is the heartbeat of this years defense and also a great player. Can we just celebrate what each of them brings/brought to their respective teams without comparing them? I love what each of them brought to their respective teams.

  29. Tod McShay said on his pod " I have it on good authority, Coach Cig doesn't want to leave Indiana. He wants to shove the IU program up everybody's @$$ sideways". Thought that was pretty in-line with Cig's personality lol.

  30. Just my opinion. But I think CIG truly believes he is going to win a National Championship at IU. I believe IU is giving him the full reigns of the program and giving him what he needs. CIG will retire here and his statue will stand outside of Memorial Stadium.

  32. IUFB > IUFBB for me. always was, always will be. Shaking hands with the HC of the football team has always meant more to me than shaking hands with HC of the basketball team. I've done both multiple times on multiple occasions in multiple decades. Just because I value one sport over the other doesn't mean I don't root for or even pay for tickets to attend the other sport. You asked a question and I provided what that question you asked meant to me. No less, no more.

  40. Today's presser. A much more measured businesslike coach. And some talk about the front 7. The cat's out of the bag folks. The country is fully aware of our secret sauce now. Personally, I liked his comments about Daley. It's almost like, he's saying, Daley's finally starting to click/get up to speed now.

  43. There is no reason for Cignetti to leave Indiana. He can make enough money to support his family for multiple generations, he has as much support and as solid a relationship with his administration as exists in college sports, he has a solid recruiting base, a huge budget for a stadium upgrade, more loyal and passionate support than any fanbase in America, he can win, he IS winning, he gets the transfers he wants, his wife loves Bloomington (and if anyone is dumb enough to believe that doesn't matter, just block them), and he's kind of the hill at a school where there's no pressure compared to Penn State, Florida, etc. NIL has evened things out. No program has the depth that for decades differentiated blue bloods from everybody else. Once? The 4th tailback at Alabama, who could start at 99% of other schools stayed at Alabama waiting on his chance. Now? He transfers to Texas Tech and plays. Indiana is getting those kids. They have 5* and 4* kids on their sidelines at every home game. Cignetti has exactly what he wants and if it comes down to money? IU has a $3.8 billion dollar endowment, 800,000 living alumni, and can pay he and his staff whatever he wants. Fear not, Hoosiers. He ain't going anywhere.

  47. Best part about this win: seeing all the random, rage-bait posts from social media groups a few days ago, speculating CFP scenarios and seeing all the comments saying things like "Lol, Indiana isn't beating Oregon" or "Indiana? Get real lololol"
