hoosierpap Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Tom Crean had just come down from the interview podium after describing how Indiana eliminated Kentucky from the NCAA tournament Saturday when he was accosted by his frazzled sports information director, J.D. Campbell. Campbell debriefed Crean on several obligations, all of it sounding terribly urgent. And that’s when Crean, one of the most famously intense grinders in college basketball, looked at Campbell and laughed. “J.D., lighten up,” Crean said. “You’ve got to enjoy it, man!” http://www.insidethehall.com/2016/03/20/around-hall-reaction-indianas-win-kentucky/#more-55268 HoosierAloha, Evann500, IUsafety and 3 others 6

Popular Post Never Daunted Posted March 20, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2016 Did anyone else have an "oh sh!t" moment when they went to go interview Crean at the end of the first half and he said, "you were expecting to interview Jon, weren't you?" kinda off the microphone. That was pure gold. Napleshoosier, HoosierHoops1, theriverpilot and 15 others 18

That was pure gold. I thought that was one of his best moments as the Indiana coach. I loved it. MadAboutIndiana, jmsgws, bleedhoosier and 3 others 6
Popular Post Old Friend Posted March 20, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2016 Something I really hope lots of people realize....we are better than Kentucky. They may hit on a group of recruits every now and again; but Indiana, right now, is better than Kentucky. I'm really proud of the way we're playing, how resilient the team is, and the direction of the program. I hated the Michigan game in the BTT. Exposed every weakness of our team from coaches to players; but they've found a way to overcome it, and I think building recruiting momentum is pivotal right now. Romeo Langford? Robert Fennessey? You guys watching? 8bucks, BGleas, mdn82 and 8 others 11

Popular Post Uspshoosier Posted March 20, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 20, 2016 @richbozich We lost a prince of a guy today -- Trey Schwab, passionate basketball coach and organ transplant advocate. Tough day for #IUBB coaches. "Trey was something special that we had at Marquette, but more than that he was a great, great friend," Crean said. IU coach Tom Crean was able to talk to his friend last night and Schwab watched the UK-IU game Saturday. JaybobHoosier, Bobman1, MartintheMopMan and 9 others 12

FortWayneHoosier Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 What if Troy Williams actually had handles and could penetrate and finish? We would be scary... Really really scary. I've thought a lot about that too. It gets irritating to watch some who's such an athlete barely be able to handle the ball or even dribble the ball with out hitting off of his foot or knee. I'm hoping he has a great game against UNC, because he can really turn a game around when he plays well pappy1865, IUsafety, JaybobHoosier and 2 others 5

Old Friend Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 What if Troy Williams actually had handles and could penetrate and finish? We would be scary... Really really scary. He has way too much freedom. And I think Crean has way too much faith in him. At the end of the Michigan game, if you're John Belien, isn't your dream play at the end defensively (with the game tied) to have the ball in Williams' hands, or anyone BUT Yogi? That was, I think, a case of Crean overthinking the room again. It ended up costing Indiana a 3 seed, I think.

Alex Bozich @insidethehall Mar 17 Tom Crean was literally yelling "Hand off" that whole possession and Troy Williams still drove into the lane and was called for a charge. That was the Chattanooga game. I think Crean needs to reel that in, probably via the bench. But I heard an interesting point on The Assembly Call podcast (which everyone should tune in to) about how when this team is lacking intensity and aggressiveness on offense, Troy brings that and lifts the team. I know that seems a little silly, but as someone who has played the game, that makes some sense. Troy has a world of work to do on both ends - no doubt. Just not sure we understand the impact of him leaving which, logically, shouldn't happen, but wouldn't be shocked either now. WayneFleekHoosier, IUsafety, Jketch and 2 others 5
