If that conversation is happening in February then there’s a pretty real scenario in which we haven’t had a football coach for going on 3 months. Cig wouldn’t even really be involved anyway other than a thumbs up/down.

Not many bowls get a sell out. If that matchup were to happen, NY6 or not, you’d get one for sure. It was going to happen in 2019 until Phil Fulmer threw a fit to match up with us in the Gator Bowl.

The New Year's Six are now the quarterfinals and semifinals of the "CFP: Now with 12 Teams!".
The Gator, Citrus, and Music City bowls are the B1G vs SEC bowls outside the playoffs.

Yep I’m not usually one for locking up a coach after one good run but in this case we can’t afford to lose this

Renegotiate at end of season. Pay him $8M/year if you have to and make his buyout for another team seem inconceivable.
