If Auburn is truly 8 or 9 in NIL in the SEC $13 mil to spend, you would have to think that this model cannot keep up.  In a year or 2, it will be up to $20 to 30 mil.  They don't want to do it, but the athletes will have to be signed as employees with a contract at some point.  I can't see boosters keeping this up.

Really, other teams get to offer money? Dang wish we would have known that when everyone was saying that Indiana's NIL is such a big advantage. Who knew Creighton had 10 million to offer?

It's ok to say we're off to a rough start, but I still think we will be fine in the long run. I haven't lost faith. But there is no way this is going how he thought it would.

I think this is my take as well.  Short term, sure there are concerns. Whenever you don’t get your first choices (can only assume based on who visited) then you are hoping the next choice is similar or you get lucky. I would prefer he field a team not just guys after a payday but right now you kind of have to do both. Also concerned that we don’t seem to be well ahead of the pack on NIL. Basing this on the surprise some schools are showing up with some big offers.

Long-term I think we can be in good shape. 3 of the 4 schools/coaches in the FF had a slowish start when they took over. NIL is different but Lville built a good team last year with non high end portal kids and now that kids see what they are about Lville is landing big targets. I expect us to be far better than when Crean took over but not expecting to be as strong as Michigan was

Tried to catch up ,but if I missed this please forgive ,but this April 7 date that is being mentioned ,wouldn't the players want to sign before this date?  I think I read that those who sign before the 7th  can get whatever is offered to them ,if they do it after then it has to go through a  fair market value thing .

Not going to be applicable this year

Not after the last two days in the stock market.  :)

June 30th is the last day teams can pay out player using money from collectives. So the money will be frontloaded likely before the new "rules" kick in.

In terms of the April 7th date, that is when the settlement could be finalized from the courts. Nothing should change though.

Yes.   When he first entered it was the school everyone thought.   Geography wins out in most these recruiting battles unless you are Duke, Kansas, North Carolina or Kentucky

Woodson pulled two guys off the west coast and a kid out of Arizona.

Can’t be that hard if Woody can do it. I get the family reasons with Dix but there shouldn’t be any excuses for other kids.

He didn’t do it in a week or two.  He also isn’t working with an entirely new staff which isn’t fully here yet.  Xanax people.

Really need some positive momentum because it feels like we’re meandering aimlessly right now - three players on the team, no GM, staff isn’t complete, we’re being outbid, his WVU guys (other than his son) don’t seem like they want to follow him. With all the talk about how great our NIL is, we aren’t making any noise at all. It’s still earlier and ultimately we won’t know how we did until the season gets here, but I’ve been pretty underwhelmed by DD’s first few weeks.

Since they did not work out and since the new staff does not seem to want them here I am not sure that is a good example.

I don't think a GM is life or death of a program. It's another person to manage from Darian's eyes as the CEO. Frankly, Darian and whoever is on the staff currently can hold down the fort in the meantime.

My post only addressed the rationality restrictions. Anything else you took from that post, you read into it by yourself.

Saw a post on another site that Louisville for example didn’t fill their roster until middle to end of April last year.  They had a total rebuild like us.  It’s hard but people just need to relax a little.
