The “compromise” by Dolson to let this go down this way saved us some good cash on the buyout. Lot of litigation today. Make no mistake about it, this was not Woody’s decision to retire.

I’m guessing it’s not up to Dolson how to announce it.  Dolson basically didn’t have anything to do with Woodson and still doesn’t.   It’s all Woodsons body guards.   
 

Once this experiment is over, Dolson will (should) be able to act in his capacity as AD.

If the professor saw Woody the King of IU, he could've changed his opinion. RMK was a monster, but at least he won 3 championships and gave so much joy and happiness to the fanbase. So I'd say in the grand scheme of things, the cost and benefit kind of balanced. But the case of Woody the King is all costs ($hit load of costs) and almost no benefit. ROI is so poor in this case.

I don't think he is making any decisions. I think Pete is making the majority of the decisions. But I haven't been around there for a few years. My FIL retired from there and was very high up with these people.

I spent a summer working at a music store in Bloomington. We sold pipes and stuff (this was before vaping). People would come in and say something like, "I'll take that bong." I'd respond with, "This water pipe? No problem, that'll be $xxx." Some were too stupid to get it and would argue that it's a bong so I'd have to make them leave.

Advanced copy of the statement: We have seen media reports about the status of Mike Woodson. Mike Woodson is our basketball coach and will continue to be as he tries to make it over a very steep hump. It’s almost a hill, really. With only 3 McDonald AAs, he has IU with a winning record and primed to make some sort of post season appearance. The King is the coach. The haters are going to need to find another foil.

If only we could have raised a few more million for 2 more McDonald's AAs, then he really could've achieved something, but he did as much as he could with what he had...LOL

This while thing has been a giant clusterf**k... starting 4 years ago when he was announced as the coach. Then three years of barely getting by... but getting blown out more often that he should have... to be "retained" last year for the massive crapfest that he's given us so far...

His attitude has been abrasive, full of hubris. His coaching has ranged from uninspired to abysmal. He doesn't bother reading the room because he sees himself as the smartest person in it. He's been protected for 4 years by Buckner and Ferguson. He's been supported by an twitter army of bots.

Now he's done - leaving one way or another. Probably. Maybe. 

He was certainly not worth the investment, but he managed to pocket some $20M for showing us who he truly is - an entitled, abrasive nepo baby... 

Just. Go. Away.
