Thanks for saving me from wasting my time.

However I would recommend, as I posted on a football thread, their interview with Kamara who is an interesting, smart guy. His takes on Cig, college football today etc are worthwhile.

If Woodson’s retirement is announced today or tomorrow, I think everybody would be rooting for IU to beat Michigan — no need to root for a loss to get Woodson gone.

Someone jokingly said it was set for 10 minutes after the trade deadline.

IMO, if the announcement is only about Woodson retiring, it would come through a department release and not a press conference.

Trilly chimed in this morning and said that he isn't hearing anything about IU other than Beard wants the job. His agent is pushing that big time. He said that is unusual because if IU was talking with or vetting college coaches there would be rumblings. He hasn't heard much other than IU having interest in Dusty. If IU is talking to an NBA guy it would make sense as to why he's not hearing anything. He also confirmed what I said which is that Scott and Brad's relationship makes this a different situation.

Did Trilly comment that if it was an NBA guy he wouldn’t hear about it, or was that what you took from his message? Is Trilly entertaining the thought of Brad? I feel like that could be very telling if he’s at least talking about it as such a plugged in person.

If we get an announcement on literal NBA trade deadline day of retirement, I’m going to assume the other thing is happening lol

it would appear Dolson and administration really don’t want to see Saturday devolve into a toxic mess, which I am happy for. I know it’s a relatively unpopular opinion but curbing boos and we want Dusty nonsense as much as possible is the right thing to do for IU Basketball and the players. Let Woody have leave with his head up and put this sorry chapter to bed.

My first thought was that the timing of any announcement has to be done with consideration for letting the team know and allowing them to process it... but then again, how bad can it be? These guys can't be that dumb that they don't know what's coming... then again, Woodson seems oblivious, so???

If it's announced that he's gone, hell, I'll start watching again and maybe even caring a bit.... I've always said once IU shows they care about the basketball program, I'll care about it again.
