Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

Not to drag the thread of course too much, but Luke Brown went to Ball State for a year, then Stetson for a year (and actually played pretty well there), then transferred to.....Indiana Wesleyan.  But he never played a game there.  Have no idea what happened to him.

Hurt I believe this year or was . Remember seeing that on a high school board somewhere .

"Starting Fresh" with a 67 year old Mike Woodson is asinine.  He was brought in to right the ship, and he's steered it right into an Iceberg.
Mike Woodson having to "Start Fresh" in his 4th year is one of the best arguments for firing him after year 3.
He should have left after last season. The longer he stays the worse it's going to get. Imagine 66 year old woodson trying to fill 8 portal spots in a less than two month

He will play in the G league and develop. They can get constant teaching as there are zero limitations like there are in college.

He’s better off in terms of $ in staying in college for another year and getting NIL money.

That's the funniest part they were all god awful coaches. The whole he played for knight doesn't mean squat when it comes to coaching. Alford probably had the most success of any of them.

I posted this earlier today as proof:

Nah.  Lets keep at least one kid who wants to be here.  He's a bit of a project, but his issues are easy to fix.  Plus, if Cig needs a Tight End . . .

One of sparks weakness is catching a ball. Last I checked catching is a good quality to have for tight ends.

Trilly dropped minor update into the discord. Nothing we didn't know. But if Woodson stays, expect "some serious" player movement on the roster

This is a big red flag, moving forward for Dolson. It should help his decision.

Woodson won’t leave on his own. He will have to be fired. I think his ego is too big to admit failure or “his way” didn’t work

I see it differently. I've said it before, but when given 2 options:
1) Retire with all the $ you're owed
2) Get fired with all the $ you're owed

Now, if you're a proud person and care about your persona, which are you taking?

Ego and Power are two very big things. With Buckner by his side, he feels untouchable. And he very well may be

I will preface this with Beard is no for me despite how talented he is. That said, he has a team that won 3 conference games last season and went 12-21 and has them 20-9 with a chance to finish .500 in conference. What he has done at Ole Miss in one season is, in a word, remarkable. If anything he is showing how quickly a good coach can turn a program around in this era. He will have a ton of interest.

Agreed. He may not be picked up this cycle but he will be coaching a better program in the next year or two. Winning cures all and the more he wins the more his past is forgotten.

If Woodson stays, the fan base goes...

His nba style rotations will work though. -12 when the starters are in and  -12 for the bench… Will have a portal guy who is like CJ Gunn who will be amazing off the bench when IU is down 23

I do not believe anyone knows who the "first choice" would be. - Eric.

But a few lines above he was “maintaining Pearl would not be the number one choice”

I then asked him “then how can you maintain he is not number 1 guy if no one knows”

His response was “is it that hard to make an assessment”

I’m lost.

I agree that the QB factor is a massive monkey wrench to all of this
