Maybe but I didn't think Buckner inserted himself until it came to hiring Archie but who knows. He might have forced Crean out but that was a necessary move imo.

When I read that post, I took it to mean the ouster of Crean -- not his hiring.

Welcome aboard KathyC.  Interesting thoughts.  I am sure that will lead to prob 20 more pages this morning, lol. 

When it became apparent that things could possibly change this year I was pretty much in the May camp.  Now you guys around here have got me on board with Pearl.  

If we come out of this deal with either of those guys leading our program I will be happy. 

But I just worry we are all being led on another wild goose chase and we will either end up with another year of Woody or some no name coach from University of Hackensack to be the next coach.

I'd rather have Pearl on the sideline, I'm more confident in him being able to win here. With where IU is I also couldn't care less about a possibility of 25 years of May when needing a new coach in 3 is just as likely.

Since you seem to possibly know these stakeholders, can you please share a message: It is now 2024, not 1984. The things Bruce Pearl has been in trouble for aren’t even illegal anymore. I would very much enjoy them making the best on court decision for this program, and to quit holding this storied program back. I’ve played for coaches that are in the Indiana HoF, and none of them are perfect, but they are all beloved. Sound familiar?

is one that I don’t get. This is not a slam on Kathywithac. Just my opinion on this overall. Hey, the program is sucking wind, so the answer is, shake up the staff and keep the HC?

This isn’t a situation where Woody has a track record so needs a new assistant to help with something specific. Like a football coach who gets a new special teams coach because they suck at it. Staff turnover while keeping Woody is simply kicking the can and would show that IU is a second rate athletic department.

The thing is if you bring him back you have to be 100% certain that next season will be much, much better...25 wins, top 3-4 B1G finish, get past the opening weekend, etc.  If it's anything less heads would absolutely have to roll. 

Absolutely no one thought Woody made any sense as a hire and no one believes another year is a good thing.  You just cannot make multiple blunders like that in a row.  I truly believe Dolson knows this and he's trying desperately to make a move.
