Fire Coach Woodson Thread

People are getting way ahead of themselves. Some reality:

1. Buckner has great influence, but he’s not solely pulling the levers here, at least not in the way he did when he forced Glass’s hand on Crean;

2. Dolson is in charge, but he understands that situations like this require internal vetting and consensus before anything happens. This is a group sport;

3. There are some very important stakeholders who would need to do an “about face” on Pearl for him to be hired;

4. If he remains, Woody will shake up his staff;

5. The player defection possibility is very real, as is the Woodying;

6. Don’t believe the rumor that this is Dolson positioning himself publicly in an internal battle with QB. To be kind, that’s misinformed. To be accurate, it’s nonsense to those who know those two.

Thats all for now.

Welcome aboard Kathy, and that is quite the Eric Gordon vs Chattanooga debut. Love it.

Why do you believe that?

I have a hard time believing Rabjohns would flip on a sitting head coach as quickly as he has without being told to do so. I'm not the biggest Rabjohns fan but he's definitely very well plugged and has always been one of the last people to defect from a lame duck regime. This seems calculated.

On a completely unrelated note, @Chris007 and I will be starting our own agency called the Chris007 & BleedCubbieBlue Center for Teams Who Can't Hoop Good. We will be working exclusively with crappy teams to exploit their misfortune to extract the absolute most money we can for our clients.

Sign me up. I always wanted to be a PI or a detective. But I've never shot a gun so that probably won't work so I'll have to just use my hands, which I've never been in a fight so I might be stuck here at IU.

Even if he wasn't told to, he must know enough that it's likely he isn't back. And he's willing to take the calculated risk of making that happen by releasing that information. Guys like him need access. If Woodson was definitely coming back he would be shooting himself in the foot right now.

Regarding # 6, there was nothing organic about what came out yesterday.  Someone decided to release the hounds and it most certainly was Dolson.
All she said was that it wasn't a Dolson move against Buckner. Never said it wasn't calculated.

crazy like a fox... it's all about clicks and shares for DD... but he's still a moron.

Exactly!  There is no chance of that happening!

I would state it differently:

  • I do not believe he has "been told to" flip on Woody.
  • I believe Rabby thinks it will not be professionally detrimental to flip on Woody.

I heard a Billy D. to Louisville rumor this morning on the radio (93.9 the ville).  Per Drew Deener Scott Drew is their #1 target but he was told don't count out Donovan.

I know several Bull fans that would help pack his bags.

It wasn’t Dolson. He and QB are friends, colleagues and devoted stewards of IU and Indiana basketball. Dolson would never undermine QB, especially that way. That’s not how he works at all.

So it’s not the power struggle between QB and Dolson?  So why in the heck can’t we just get this done then?  Especially, if Dolson wants to move on from Woodson

So Buckner hired Crean, Miller, and Woodson?
