Ah it was undefeated non conference at home then Quote

During Sampson’s tenure we won around 36 home games in a row…I remember it getting quite the publicity. The streak ended when we lost to UConn and Jim Calhoun/Hasheem Tabeet. Alford Bailey 1 Quote

Gone way to far back. The 2015-2016 team in Yogi's senior year was undefeated at home. Women were as well that season. Combined 31-0 (17-0 men+14-0 women). Last year was also very close to perfect with just two home losses for men (NW, Iowa) and none for women till NCAA Tourney loss to Miami for combined 32-3. HoosierHoopster 1 Quote

The team with Yogi, Wat et al was truly special. But oh snap I just realized this was the team with Troy, Juwan Morgan, OG et al (lol) Still, don’t think we really appreciated it at the time, all that posting flak on Crean. What we’d give to have some of those teams suit up for IU now. BGleas 1 Quote

IUFAN1976 Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I know Coach Woodson wants to take on the top tier teams, but why play them when you don’t have a team that can compete with them on their level. Please don’t say recruiting because these types of loses won’t help recruiting. Please don’t say to prepare us for the Big Ten because losing like that can lead to a confidence issue, IMO Hornsby 1 Quote

No idea how I forgot about this team because it's probably my favorite of this era. I went back and watched highlights from the win at Iowa and thought "holy crap we shot a ton of 3's." Then I looked at the box score and saw we attempted 22, which is probably a pretty normal amount for anyone not named IU today. Quote

Unfortunately, our numbers really really really suck. And the only two teams worth a mention have wiped the floor with us. Out of the entire bunch, Nebraska looks like the only team closest to "on the fence." And I don't even think they'd be a tourney team right now. Big Ten is sitting in a super rough place. Personally, I'm happy it is. The conference can only underperform for so long before someone with a brain in the B1G leadership realizes changes are needed. Kentuckysucks 1 Quote

You could argue IUs resumes (as bad as it is) is better than Nebraskas so far. Neither is close to the field as of today for me. The 5 you mentioned are definitely in the field as of today and with the B1G non conference results they won’t be getting 8 or 9 teams. A team will have to have multiple wins against those top 5 B1G teams to feel comfortable in the field if they strike out the rest of the non conference. I would take IUs resume over Nebraska today because IU has a top 66 road win and their only losses are to top 22 teams. Nebraska has 2 home wins against 76 and 84 but has a loss at Minny(115). Road wins are gold especially top 75 road wins. Having said all of that neither team has anything that resembles a tournament team resume just yet. If I had to pick between the 2 I would go with IUs. My guess is 7 teams make it from the B1G. The 5 you mentioned and 2 from(MSU, IU, Michigan, Nebraska) MemphisHoosier, Dave from Dayton, Chris007 and 2 others 5 Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Nebraska's non-con SOS is 334. No matter how bad anyone's grass looks, it always looks greener than the grass at LCS's place. IU_FanClub, thebigweave and RaceToTheTop 3 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 We have nice players who have talent and like to win when it’s convenient. We have a coach who reps IU well and wants his players to rep the uni on/off the court. I’m really happy about this. What we don’t have are dogs, leaders, or pieces that fit together to play in a modern system. Glad the team isn’t making the wrong kind of headlines off the court sans XJ and Woody could be here to lead the program through these tough (?) times. Go Hoosiers! None. But I do a Top 25 weekly and I'm assuming that's what he's mentioning. I am harsher on IU at times. Though I give in to my biases as much as anyone else would. Used for the tourney? I don't know. But Indiana isn't anywhere near a tourney team at the moment. Quote
